My NYR is also to lose weight, big surprise! I'm at 127 and when I came to college I was 120. My hope is to lose weight to at least get back to the 120 I was 3 months ago. I'm taking a group fitness class for credit and have worked out ever since last Wednesday and it feels great! I wasn't planning on going tonight, but this thread has really made me want to go again. I know I'm not overweight, but it would just be nice to be back at that weight again. Good Luck to me!

oh champ. how funny it is that we have never seen a picture of you.
also- you do not know me. if you did, you would know i am at the gym every morning. and the weight that i have gained has not made me fat- merely average size, perhaps a little extra on there for my small frame. this obviously doesn't please me. i want to be really thin again. i'm working on it. and to shut your rude ass up.. i bet you couldn't get a girl that like me or most of the other girls on GC if you jogged every day for two years. you have no class and are rather lacking in personality department. that, unfortunately for you, can not be made up for with all the looks in the world. so go jog that off. |
Well, I don't think I'd ever wanna date someone like you.
You're like 3 feet tall, you talk too much and you're average looking at best. |
i am almost 5 foot 3, thank you. and average looking is fine with me.. its better than being you, bitter and having to turn to the internet to find a way to get out aggressions from all the people who ridicule me in real life.
|
lol? you assume too much.
how am i being bitter towards you? you're the one who tried to say you were too good for me and all i did was let you know why you'd never see me trying to get at someone like you. calm down, slim. |
I think you guys are all awesome and I'm totally inspired by the posts on this thread. I've been to the gym every day so far this week. :D I'm trying to get back to my goal of going 6 days a week. We'll see...
Keep at it everyone!! :D |
First I'd like to say i like this thread, it's really good to hear all your stories.
I don't make NYRs but i've recently decided to try and cook healthier...the first step being learning to cook. Until now cooking meant taking from the freezer and shoving it into the oven or microwave. I never bought fresh produce or poultry or anything not boxed...so today i started, i made myself chicken with orange glaze and a salad... I could stand to lose 30 pounds or so, but i have yet to find the motivation...I know i would need more than just a diet, i'd need a "lifestyle change", that's prolly why i'm trying to cook more often...eventually i'll work into healthy meals... exercise is an unknown to me...i don't. last year i took yoga for a bit and that was quite a workout for me (don't knock it til you try it). I'm starting that again this week but i need to do more...i'm just NOT a morning person, and nights are so busy.... Well, thanks for letting me spiel.... |
Yoga IS a workout!! If you like it, you might want to try Pilates.
I was doing SO well yesterday....ate around 1200 calories (which I have to be careful to eat that much most days...a lot of times I'm not all that hungry and only eat around 1000 but that'll kill my metabolism). I went home and worked out and then went grocery shopping with my friend for our party tonight. Went back to their place and was STARVING, but I was ok. And then someone mentioned Chipotle. For anyone who's had Chipotle...or saw the Osbournes last week...you KNOW how addictive that stuff is. You're fine if you go cold turkey. In fact, you don't even miss it. But once you start having Chipotle, you want it ALL the time. It's seriously ridiculous. And, of course, you start off saving part of the burrito for the next day, but once you've been able to eat the whole thing, you can't go back. It's ridiculous. So today I REALLY have to try to be good. It's been easy so far since, thanks to the Chipotle burrito, I didn't wake up starving. So my plan is to have some peanuts in a little bit to get protein, then have a lean cuisine for lunch, then possibly Subway for dinner. I probably won't have time to work out, but I can take today off on that. |
MooseGirl-I hear you about cooking healthier! Mr. Mox & I just moved into an apartment in a new neighborhood. This is bad b/c we don't know anywhere to order pizza....and this is good b/c we don't know anywhere to order pizza. :D I'm just learning how to really cook now (beyond my menu of Tuna Helper & hot dogs), so cooking is enough of a challenge & cooking healthy is an even more daunting task! I was going to go shopping at Whole Foods (a super healthy grocery store by my apt.) but their name should really be Whole Check....healthy food is expensive!!
My big problem now is carbs. I love them! A lot! For dinner last night, I had half of a salmon filet and half of a sweet potato. I'm not doing too badly on my diet plan, I guess. Also, I've been taking two steps at a time at work. Do not do this with heels on. They get caught. Trust me. :p |
I am on day #8 of my diet, and I have already lost 2.5 lbs. :) I'm noly weighing myself once a week or I will become obsessed. If I keep on going like this, I will be at my goal by my birthday!
|
I need to get a scale that's actually accurate. Mine says my cat weighs 1 pound (he's at least 13) and that my sister weighs 140 (she went to the doctor a little while ago and was more like 110). I don't even bother weighing myself.
I seriously need to get enough motivation to get up and work out in the morning. I'm usually pretty good about doing it at night, but lately I've been too busy. If I could get up even 20 minutes earlier... On a happier note, I've been pre-approved for a loan for my new car. I'll be counting down the days till I have my Mustang pretty soon. :) |
Umm...is there anyone on here who's resolution is to get bigger?
I'm a little scrawny bitch, it would be cool if I can gain 10 pounds. :o I'm adding a lot of carbs and protein and I'm going to starting lifting weights, hopefully that will do the job. :) |
Dionysus: What about those shakes that weightlifter guys drink? The only make you put on muscle if you lift all the time.....otherwise, they just make you fat. Maybe you can put on a little weight with a balance of shakes/lifting?
Along those lines..what if you just want your butt to be bigger? My hips are normal, and my butt isn't flat, but it could be poofier. I don't want it so big it could be used to sit your drink on,but a little more back there would be nice. :) |

Sounds like you are doing thie the right way! I made my resolution this week not to eat ANY MORE Chinese food. This week is the second time in a month I've been sick after eating it. I have lost a lot of weight (mostly muscle) from all of this, since I haven't been feeling up to working out. Ugh. OT: I got an invite to some pretty fun looking parties in NYC, I forgot your e-mail though. IM me and I will forward! |
