But I bet this one will take the cake! When I eat frenchfries, the ones with pointed ends or have potato skin on it, I won't eat the ends of it! If bad enough I won't eat the whole frie! |

If I go the a bathroom and it stinks or a toilet hasn't been flushed I won't use it. I got out of work early because sewage starting spewing out of the drains in our utility and storage closet. I've been home for a half and hour and am still nauseous bc of that. Also I hate to pee if the bathroom is near a room where people are, I really hate when people are around and it's quiet because i feel like they are listening to me pee.

1) I have to drink everything with a straw, it's an oral fixation! ;)
2) I can't go to bed unless my closet doors are closed 3) I (also) do not like my food touching. It has to be separated or in separate plates. 4) Whenever I shave my legs, I always shave my right leg first. 5) I like odd number, that's why this list has to end in one. |

now on to me: i eat food in layers (ex:pizza have to eat all the the toppings if there are any, then the cheese, then the crust) or by color(like, if i'm eating m&ms or something something else that comes in color..i have to eat all the browns before i can move on to yellows, etc..) i have a routine of how i do things in the shower..and i have to do it the same way or i feel like something is off. i'm sure i'll think of more later |
When I parallel park or park in a stall my car has to be perfectly straight.
I can't sleep unless it is pitch black - therefore I never stay up or out terribly late in the summer cause I can't sleep if the sun is rising (maybe I'm part vampire LOL). I eat my food one thing at a time usually starting with the meat/fish and then moving on to the veggies. I can't sleep with my closet door open or my bedroom door open -don't ask me why... I can't be late for anything... |
I'm really laid back, but there are some things that drive me crazy! My CD's have to be in exactly the right order (sometimes alphabetized, sometimes alphabetized and separated by category). I am kind of this way with my DVD's, but my boyfriend just throws them on top of the shelf withought looking at what they are. So I took some of them and put them on a separate shelf so I can control the order they are in AT ALL TIMES. lol
I also can't STAND for my hands to be dirty for more than like a minute. I'm not a prissy kind of girl, but they just feel gross if I can't wash them after handling money, boxes, etc. When I sleep, I HAVE to be covered, but my head and feet CAN'T be covered. If that makes any sense. lol. If my boyfriend pulls the covers over my head I freak out. It will bring me out of a super-deep sleep and I have to uncover my head immediately or I feel like I'm suffocating. And if my feet are covered I feel like I'm trapped. If I'm @ my house, my bedroom door HAS to stay open. But if I'm @ my mom's house it HAS to be closed. When I was in college one of my friends did have OCDC (diagonsed with it). His hands were always red from his scrubbing them so much. And he thought sex was dirty. Now, he HAD sex and LIKED it, but he HAD to shower afterwards. So you'd see him at 2 in the afternoon in between classes and his hair would be wet, and you knew he just had sex 'cause he had to take a shower! |

What I am OCD about?
In one word -- EVERYTHING! |
This post is near and dear to my heart. I am neurotic about so many things and have been since elementary. I have never been diagnosed with OCD, but then again, I never sought counseling for it.
 As a child... *When turning off the television in my room it had to be on a certain volume and on a certain channel. The volume was always on a 10, 15, or 20 (get the picture?). In Japan we only had one American channel, so that was easy. However, when I moved back to the states I would usually turn the t.v. off on MTV or the CNN Headline News channel. *I would constantly retie my shoes so that they were perfect. *My doll house...only for show. *When my friends would sit on my bed, I would immediately straighten out the wrinkles when they got up. I know! As an adult... You can find most of these in the previous posts, I kid you not! Therefore I will spare all of you another long list. hahaha!:D |
IF a chair or sofa have crumbs or nasty dark spots on it, I can't sit on it!
|
Ha! I thought I didn't have any of these "issues" until I sat here and read everyone else's, and I realized that I --
must put in my left earring before the right must have the sheet and blanket tucked in at the foot of the bed cannot stand food touching, although I have chilled out about this one a little (I can't stand it when people used to make fun of me and say that it all touches in your stomach -- well, duh, I can't taste it when it's there!) can't eat the butt end of a pickle retie my shoes until they feel equally tight or loose I also have serious claustrophobia issues, so I prefer doors to be OPEN. I won't close the bathroom door at all if I'm home alone. Edited to add: OMG, I forgot about the thing I obsess over *every* night -- my alarm clock. I set three alarms every night: my regular clock/radio, a battery operated alarm and a watch alarm. They are all set for different times. I check each alarm repeatedly before I can go to sleep, and I stress out about it every time. The clock/radio is the worst -- I check am/pm a million times, and I turn the radio on at least three times, to make sure the volume is MAD CRAZY LOUD. I am always terribly afraid of oversleeping, because when I was younger I overslept all the time. I used to have to locate alarm clocks throughout my room so I'd have to get up and find them to shut them off, but I would still oversleep. I'm better now, but I can still hit the snooze button for *hours* without even being aware that I'm doing it. But I am totally obsessed with my alarms. For real, if one of them didn't go off I would probably oversleep and miss work. That would be awful, and it's super important that I not oversleep because it takes me FOREVER to get ready in the morning (I am also one who doesn't like to leave home without makeup/hair/clothes reasonably perfect). |
Wow.. I never noticed that people do these things that I do, but I'm in the study and I just asked around, and other people do it too!
*When I shave my legs, I ALWAYS start with the right side, no matter what. Also, when I'm in the shower, I do things in a certain order. I can skip something, but I can't do it out of order. *I also do the gas thing. I hate it when it doesn't end in a 0. *I can't eat fruit with bruises. If I find one in the middle, I'll throw it away and start all over. I also can't eat veggies that are even the tiniest bit wilted. maybe that's just ebing picky though. *I used to have to have the ends of my blankets tucked under the end of the bed. But not the sides. Ever. *I absolutely cannot stand it when the spines of my book are cracked. I won't buy a book if I can't find one with a perfect spine. The problem is that my mother always always always cracks the bindings. She borrows books and cracks them in front of me because she knows it gets to me. UGH!! |
Coasters, DVDs, and My Closet!!
I am obsessed with coasters. I have a lot of wood furniture in my place and there are coasters all over my house. The office, the bedroom, the living room, etc.
My DVDs MUST be organized. They are all in alphabetical order and I freak when someone gets one out of place. I also have a database that has them listed by title, genre, star, and running time. I'm also obsessed with my closet. All of my clothes and shoes are arranged by style, color, and fabric. For example all of my tops are hung together in this order: 1st: sleeveless, short sleeves, 3/4 lengths sleeves, then long sleeves. 2nd: In color order from light to dark. 3rd: Then in this order: vnecks, boat necks, turtle necks, etc. 4th: Fabric from light (silk, cotton, wool, etc) (That's just tops. All of my clothes have a similar order.) And I clean out my closet once a season. It usually takes me a few days to complete the task. The one good thing about it is that it's fairly easy to get dressed. ZA |
I've never really told anyone about this, but I play the "catalog game." You know, when you get a new catalog (victoria's secret, j. crew, etc) and you go through each page and have to pick ONE THING to theoretically get, even if you don't like anything. Anyways, I have to touch the picture of the selected item. I can't just say in my head "I pick that sweater." I have to touch the picture with the full pad of my right index finger. I can't turn the page unless I feel that a full touch has occurred (don't ask me why), I get all freaked out.
I can't stand when my bare forearm touches the desk at school when I'm writing... it's always cold and it numbs the underside of my arm in this weird way that really bugs me. I always bring a sweater to class so I will have a layer between my arm and the desk, even in May. I'm also anal about how I do the crossword puzzle. I feel like my day cannot begin until I've done the Washington Post puzzle... no other puzzle will do (not USA Today, nuh uh). It has to be done in black rolling-ball ink and in a certain print style... if I feel like I've gotten sloppy in filling in the boxes I will go buy another paper and redo it. Okay, I know I'm weird. I also can't get in an unmade bed- used to drive my boyfriend crazy. One of my sisters is legit OCD and also suffers from trichtillomania (complusive hair-pulling). She started when she was in thrid grade and pulled all her eyelashes out. She's on meds now to mediate her compulsions, but sometimes we catch her going after her eyelashes (she doesn't even realize she's doing it, and it doesn't hurt her, it just feels good). |
