It's called taxidermy. Isn't it possible that the giraffes were killed legaly? i don't know the status of the giraffe these days, but it could be very old. I know my grandpa has a couple of deer mounts that are older than me, and i've seen some from the 40's and 50's

I am not really sure about the giraffe thing. There were a lot of animals that i wasn't too sure how they got back into the US without animal rights all over them. But i mean they had bears, deer, rodents, birds, elk, and a bunch of other 4 legged animals that I SWEAR aren't legal to have killed. Then again it was two years ago and I don't remember all the animals i saw. The giraffes just stuck out in my mind.
