Speaking of old, this may really date me, but does anyone remember Chocolite candy bars? They were partially segmented, like a caramello is, but they were just a chunky, normal candy bar shape. They had these tiny bubbles in them that gave them a lighter, sort of crispy texture. They had this very typically 70s sunburst pattern on them, and the wrapper was like that, all these colors in a sunburst pattern.....ahh..... And how about Skor bars???? Ooooh, my mouth waters just thinking of them......they were that really thick, heavy toffee covered in chocolate. You'd bite into it and it would just kind of crumble off into your mouth in a big hunk.....and when you chewed it, invariably the toffee would get stuck in your molars and you'd practically need a power drill to get them out.......good times!!!!!!!! And last but not least, what about Red Barn? Maybe it was a local thing, but when I was little (and actually all the way up into high school) we had these restaurants that were actually big red barns, and it was called Red Barn. They had burgers and chicken and fish, and they had little cartoon burgers and chicken and fish that were their symbols just like Ronald McDonald and Grimace. They were the first place out there to get a salad bar.......ooh, a salad bar!!!!!! What an innovation!!!!!!! But we thought it was really groovy at the time. LOVED Red Barn. (Burger Chef too, now that I think of it.) |
They probably still make new ones, but:

They still have Sun Drop and Skors in my area.

I also miss Clinque's chapstick, which was discontinued. :( |
They have Skor bars, Sun Drop, and Mamba's here. I love Mamba's, way better than Starburst IMHO...
-Anyone remember the fruit snacks that were called asteroids, they were tiny little things that were green and in a black box. They also made meteorites, that were red. Those were the best! -I was at the outlet mall for the Gap, I got the little tiny spray bottles (the ones that they sell for 4.50) of the Gap Grass, it was in the old silver packaging, but I stocked up. I think it kinda smells like banana. I remember they used to have like 10 scents though. -I remember the Lifesaver holes that were sweet and sour. I always used to get those when we would go to the pool. My friends dad was like vehemently opposed to those though, he told her that they were acid, and they would eat right through her tougue, and make a hole in her stomach. I remember asking my mom if that was true, and of course, it wasn't. -Does anyone remember the cereal that was like little furry bears or something. It was so good, they discontinued it, and me and my mom went online to this discontinued food place, and still couldn't find it. I can't remember the name, but I remember I got a book in one of the boxes, and there was a story about this kid who was going to the fair for his b-day, and it rained, so the ferris wheel got full of water, and so it got cancelled, but the golden bears from the cereal came over, and had a concert in his basement. -I will admit, I liked clear Pepsi, which is wierd since I am not a big cola drinker, but I liked it, because it was sweeter I think. |

SADDLE SHOES!
I had a pair of red ones and a pair of black ones. I loved them because they taught me how to distinguish which shoe went on which foot by the way the "saddles" were placed on each shoe. Oh, and I miss tap. I used to take tap lessons and I quit when I was five ('cuz we moved). What I'd really really love would be a pair of saddle shoes with taps on them (and the ability to tap, of course). |

-book orders
-1-2-3 Jello....it was like 3 different textures and it stacked..I stopped seeing it around the early 90s -"Bonkers" it was some kind of candy sorta like taffy or starburst We have a truckload of Sun Drop and Skor bars in these parts. Sun Drop is the bomb but loaded w/ sugar!!! there was a shampoo I used when I was a kid called "halsa" and it had chamomile extract in it and made my hair look soooo good. I haven't seen it in forever. |
They brought Popples out again a year or so ago and Paige has of them. One of them came with a video that definitely was made in the original Popple era......it was so bad.
They have also resurrected Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, and Smurfs. I had almost every Care Bear that there was and I finally got rid of the last of them in a recent garage sale. THEN they came back out and of course Paige had to have one. They are absolutely identical in every way to the old ones. Boy was I mad paying for a new one when I had just gotten rid of the old ones. Anyone remember Freezy Freakies.......they were these winter gloves and accessories that changed colors and patterns in the cold snow.....I had a pair of silvery white and blue gloves with peacocks on them.......in the snow the peacock's feathery tail came out in a red heart pattern. How about the original Cosmic Candy? Anybody remember Underoos? I had the Wonder Woman Underoos and the kids in my neighborhood made a superhero movie........I was Wonder Woman and I wore my Underoos as my costume!!!!!!! Yep, I ran around and allowed myself to be filmed in my underwear. I remember going to K Mart and flipping through the record bins for 45s..........you had to buy those little round plastic adaptors to put on the turntable and I was always losing them. I'm getting on a roll here...........I better stop!!!!!! |

Carnation: Malt-o-meal is still very much alive! I love that stuff! Haven't tried to buy it up here in Yankeeville yet though...
I miss Silkience shampoo. That stuff smelled SOOOO good and made my hair so soft. The scent Susanna from Crabtree and Evelyn. Smelled awesome. Campbell's Chunky Soup: Beef Stroganoff flavor...that stuff rocked. It was even good cold. Freshman year of college I used to eat it straight out of the can...It was discontinued at the end of that year I think...so it hasn't been that long. |
Here are 2 sites with many of the old cereals and products:
