Can anyone suggest what to wear for Second Rounds? I'm kind of unsure what would be appropriate/not appropriate. Thanks!!:)

It has been found to help retention on many campuses because girls do not have to go back and see who invited them and then have the day to decide not to go because they aren't pleased with their invites. Instead, they do their general ranking right after first round and show up the next day ready for their rounds. They are already dressed and ready with their Rho Chi group when they find out who invited them and they go straight to their parties.

It also helps to eliminate talk about the chapters because girls fill out their rankings right after first round, before they get to go back to the dorms and see their friends, etc...

Yeah, there are definite benefits to PRUSH, but there are also benefits to SORUSH. However, what browneyedgirl is describing is NOT PRUSH.

How did most people dress for the first round? Knowing that might make it easier for us to answer. Also, what are you thinking of wearing?

No, what she is describing is definitely NOT P-Rush... I have never heard of what they are doing and to me it seems very unfair to some girls and chapters. But, anyway...

BrownEyedGirl -- GOOD LUCK! As for clothes, it definitely depends on what school, how many rounds, what other girls are wearing, etc... However, I think a safe bet for second rounds at most schools would be a cute dress or a skirt and shirt with nice sandals... at some schools, capris would even be okay.

at bgsu - the second round outfits are kinda up in the air. when i was there last year, we had some girls show up in nice shorts and shirts, some show up in club clothes (spikey shoes and all), and some who looked way formal or just t-shirt and jeans.

i guess what i'm saying is look at the chapters that you were interested in. do they seem formal? laidback? club clothes girls? go by that.

you really can't go wrong with a skirt and nice shirt or a nice pair of shorts/khakis and nice shirt. basically anything that you would get from the Gap, abercrombie, or express.

remember that second rounds are philanthopy and some sororities there do some arts and crafts that could get you dirty.

as for pref rounds - cocktail dresses are big. for pnm's and current members. most sororities end up wearing something black and knee length.

hope this helps some.

Something to consider also is that while it may still be a little toasty in your area of the country is that it is mid-September. Try to choose outfits that have more of a "fall look" to them rather than a really summery sundress and strappy sandals. Don't break out the wool by any means but going with a more seasonal or year-round look will look much better than showing up in a dress that is mainly white or just has that summery look to it!
Good luck on the next round!

And i do! :) First Round we all wore the same tshirts--the front said Why Make a WIsh... and on the back... When You Can Live A Dream and the back had two little girls laying on their backs looking up at the sky and among the stars were the letters of teh 14 sororities on campus. VERY CUTE. All girls going through recruitment wore the grey ones, all Rho Gammas wore bright blue ones, and each sorority on campus also wore a different color. I really liked how they did that. And then we could wear jeans, skirts, capris, floods, and then sandals, tennis shoes, whatever made you comfy!:)

i went thru rush my frosh. year and altho it didnt work out this is what i wore:

1st day/round: tank/sweater and shorts

2nd day/round: khaki pants and a black t

3rd day/round: mid length skirt with top and duster

4th day/pref: a purple sundress that i picked up at nordstroms earlier that year...

altho i have discovered from the ladies here that it seems to be more appropriate to wear a black dress for pref.
