The city is gettng more white collar though, so it's not too much of a surprise. |
I HATE Subway and Blimpies! They suck a fat one!
The ONLY good sandwich shop that is a chain is Firehouse. They are great! They steam all their subs and they're oh so yummy! :D They are only in a few southern states right now. Check them out. Firehouse Subs |
I love Jimmy John's & Penn Station! Jimmy John's makes the best cold subs & Penn Station makes GODLY warm/toasted subs!
In fact, I want one right now! |
I like Quiznos, Jimmy John's, Panera (asiago roast beef...mmmm), and Corner Bakery.
|
I can live at Subway ....... i love that place soooo much....practically lived there during my pregnancy.... a sub way club on parmisan oregano with everything is great especially when you start mixing dressings.
but a mom and pop place there once was a place in glendora "Gene's Grinders" the BEST! then they sold out and the new owner relocated and the place has never beenthe same |

Jimmy John's all the way...I think there's 6 on my campus (including the one right across the street from my sorority house) so it's impossible NOT to like it! :D They also deliver w/in 5-10 minutes of placing your order. Except last time when we called for delivery to the sorority house, the guy laughed and was like "you mean you want delivery to the kappa house right across the street?"

I had subway for dinner. They gave me chocolate chip cookies.

Katz's
Its only 15 minutes away by subway, and its so much better than Subway. I'm talking about Katz's. Serving the Lower East Side since 1888.

Russ, you made me hungry again. I have a confession. I have been a New Yorker all of my life, and I have never eaten pastrami. *GASP* I hang my head in shame as Russ revokes my New Yorker card. :(

In Kansas City:
I worked at Panera all through HS so there was a period where I ate Panera everyday. The soups and salads are what make them stand out though. My little brother works at Quizno's and so when I'm home now, I get that a lot more often. Mr. Goodcents - good for your very standard run of the mill subs...cheap too. Not too exciting. In Lincoln: Love Jimmy Johns, especially now that I can go to the bars, and it's right there! Love that it's open real late. That extra block and a half walk at 2am to skip Amigos was too much for me a lot of times. Doozy's - local store with 3 or 4 branches in Lincoln: Toasted sandwhich's and really really good bread. Good variety. Subway: It's in the Union - just across the street from the chapter house so it's a good hungover distance to manage. Like the different sauces. |
