Why couldn't they grow-up?

My freshman year was unique. Academically, I did awesome (3.75) but friendship wise not so great. I lived this ghetto dorm (Gamma) and the girls I had the wonderful joy of sharing the bathroom with were absolute pigs. We had two girls actually get into fist fights about twice a week until one was kicked out. I had a girl that just did not like me. She was of course best friends with my roomate (sp?) and thought it fun to prank call me at odd times.
It's all good though because as I was getting off the field after a halftime show, I hear this girl screaming "BITCH" repeadetly at the top of her lungs. I look and loh and behold it's my ex-roomates best friend. I look at her, say her name and wave. That was the best :D :D :D :D
That made my freshman year worthwhile

It was the best. Almost everyone I went to high school went ended up going to the same school so it was like my senior year in high school but with much more freedom ! I did party a bit to much but it was all worth it. I also made really good friendships.
My step sister and I were roomates and everyone on my floor was soo cool we would terroize the girls that lived on another floor- put tootpaste on their doors etcc..

I found this comment kinda offensive. I'm in band...in fact I'm a music education major. Your roommate DID sound weird, but don't make comments about people in band. We're not all "weirdos" and "geeks". We don't like the stereotypes.

BTW I'm sure you wouldn't like it if someone said to you, "Sorority girls are all stuck up, rich bitches." Now would you? Because it's not true; it's a stereotype.

That's my 2 cents.

Ah, freshman year....

I had a blast freshman year - I ended up having a halfway decent floor, and a really good roommate. My grades were pretty good (I had my best GPA first semester), and I ended up pledging second semester.

All in all, not a bad year - it's gotten better every year since.

I loved my freshman year of college! It was a chance to make a clean break from high school, which I didn't really like because I never felt like I really fit in. I joined Phi Sig, which obviously kicked ass, and I learned a few important lessons:

1. Keystone Ice tastes really, really bad

2. Partying till 5 in the morning night after night does not do the body good :)

3. If you meet a good looking girl, don't get so drunk that you can't remember her the next day

4. Running away from the RA's generally is not a good idea

These are a couple of the things that I can think of off the top of my head, I'll probably come up with a few more later. Hopefully this next year (my junior year) will be the best ever!

This thread is old, but I was looking around and I found it, so I'll answer! My freshman year was pretty good. I didn't go Greek til sophomore year, but I joined my service club freshman year and made some great friends there. Academically, I got the worst grades I'd ever had since middle school (3.2), but I think it was because I was excited to be in college and meeting new people.

It was very good for the most part. Although I got a B in one class and I had been a straight A student in high school.

During the first semester of my freshman year, I felt kind of lost. I had a couple friends and a boyfriend at the same school, but it wasn't like high school where I was involved with everything under the sun and felt at home. The second semester though, after getting involved with a campus group and joining Alpha Gam, everything changed and I hated to leave when summer came. It just took a semester to get to know things, adjust to living away and find my niche on campus!
