I cannot see Ashanti receiving such a prestigous award. She has not been on the scene long enough and her sound is all digital. Has anyone ever herar her perform live? She SUCKS!!! :confused: I dont know who they have nominating these people but they need some serious help.

The drama unfolds this weekend. Check E! ET, CNN, et. al. for details. :p

I won't be watching the awards but I will be watching E!...besides they do so much editing on those shows you never get to see what really happened; you'd just have to hear about it. Unless you actually go.

I've heard many artist and record execs say that this happens a lot. One of my professors co-owns an independent label. He said he couldn't compete with the other labels because of how much money they were paying the radio stations. This award could have been given to her through a deal, so that it would give her career a boost. IMO, I think Mary should have won this award. Shes been in the business a while, and when she sings, she sings with all of her soul. At least she gives people something to watch!

I do not know about your channels, but it's on right now. I've missed the beginning.

It was BORING. When I looked up, Jill, Shemar, and Arsenio were thanking everyone. "IT'S OVER?" I yelled. :eek:

Arsenio's hair: what was it doing?

Jill: She's a DIVA for real, ya'll . LMAO!
Her performance: going back to the 70's when Patti and Aretha used to "dress up" in those outfits from head to toe.

Patti: looked good. Why did she fly out yesterday morning for the show? Was this a last minute thing?

Angela Bassett- her acceptance speech was fitting. She should have given Ashanti some pointers.
Ashanti-performance was cool. Acceptance speech: she chose not to read her wrinkled paper, but still did not mention or tie herself to Aretha Franklin.

Truth: she and the others performing made it seem like they were trying to prove they could sing. :confused:
We already know Jill and CeCe can sing, but the others were like "see, we can sing, too."

Nelly and Kelly at the beginning: The chemistry was there. Pappa Knowles escorted Kelly to the show. :rolleyes: DC won 2 awards, I think. When Kelly accepted the 1st award, she thanked B and M, and said "wherever they are working" :eek: THEN, when she got up to accept the 2nd award, Kelly must have been briefed by Papa Knowles b/c she said that B was someplace performing and M was in some city with Luther....you better work!

Then she also said that she was praying for the girl groups out there and to not let the industry, the business, etc "jack you up". That's what she said. LMAO!

Here are my opinions/open letters

Arsenio Hall- Hair a hot mess but that moment of silence comment was funny. Arsenio you need to whoop a cone on whoever did that to you bruh.

Shemar Moore- Dude, I'm so tired of you acting as if "I'm fine and cool, see look. I got my shirt open and my tight a$$ pants on." Don't you have a movie or something to work on?

Truth Hurts- Truthfull speaking, I'm not impressed. Her song has turned into Alicia Keyes Cook's "Fallin." You know, liked it at first but now you're like O....K....can you perform another song now? Hey Truth, I'm kinda tired of seeing your video performed onstage. Then she yelled "Aftermath." Is that the same as yelling "Murder?"

Isyss- Who? :confused: When presenting the award, why did the member speaking have on a see through orange dress and white underwear? Tragedy...

Jill Scott- She's my girl. One of the strongest voices in the industry and a true performer. But, she needs a fashion consultant. A beautiful woman with the wrong clothes.

Irv Gotti- Hey Irv, if you're gonna get up in my face and throw up the murder sign, the least you could do is put a bra on to keep your girls in check.

702- You broke up why are you back? Soul Train is grasping for straws by giving them a nomination.

Ashanti- I'm convinced, she has no talent and her dancing skills suck. Well I guess it's settled. Hey Ashanti, stick to pointing, touching your hair and shoulders while rocking from side to side cause the dance moves ain't cutting it. Did you hear the audience laugh when she said I would like to thank my lawyers and attorneys? Wow she got both :rolleyes:

How many girl groups came out this month? It's all the same and it's so tired. Half naked young women with extremely long weaves. All looking alike with no distinguishable characteristics.

Overall take....BORING! Really all they needed to do was get a 30 minute spot. Give Angela her award, let Patti say hey to all her babies, let Jill and CeCe sing, get your purse and vacate the building.

I wonder did I tell you all how I really felt. :D :cool:

Yes you did...and you're so right I get so sick and tired of these fly by night weaved up, girl groups who starves themselves in hotels night after night to wear something skimpy for their next performance. I'll say it again and again what happened to the real deal=Xscape, EnVogue, and the likes.
I didn't even watch it!! but I'm sure to hear about it.
