hmmm

I absolutely LOVE Tiffanny's. I am in my store in Tampa so often that I was even offered a job. My first Tiffany's was when I was 12, I got this star bracelet.. which they discontinued (sad) and I have been collecting ever since. I love Elsa Peretti design, the open heart is my favorite! when my ex boyfriend broke up with me I went to Tiffany's and bought it to symbolize my new start (and broken heart). I wear it all the time, and of course have the Return to Tiffany's dog collar thingy. The big thing now is the Diamonds by the inch. It's five diamonds on a necklace, I just got mine for my 21st from my parents and I have noticed people wearing them now. As far as purses and that stuff goes, Coach and Louis is very big here and of course with the matching shoes. However people love to wear fake here, which is funny becuase some of them are just too rediculously fake you just want to laugh!

Just some insight! :D

Sorority Italian Charms

On a related subject, there are now officially licensed sorority Italian charms. I bought them at www.carinacharms.com, put "Greek Life" in the SEARCH box in the upper left to view them all. They have about a dozen sororities, including AOPi, AChiO, ADPi, Alpha Xi, Chi Omega, DG, Tri Delt, Kappa Delta, Phi Mu, Gamma Phi, Pi Phi and Sigma Kappa. $20 each. More sororities to come, Carina says, and some fraternity Italian charms on the way also. It's a great site for Italian charms. These are the flat Italian charms that do not dangle, so you can wear them at work or school and they don't get in the way. I'm a Gamma Phi, and this site also has a pink carnation, crescent moon, lamp of learning and more. It also has a lot of college logo charms. I got a Cal Berkeley Italian charm here. Enjoy!

There was an extra comma in the hyperlink. Try http://www.carinacharms.com/cgi-bin/carina/index.html.

Perfect... this website is just what I wanted.

I work at Carina ! My boss is a Gamma Phi, so that would be why there are so many Gamma Phi symbols available.. (beside the fact we have one of the largest selections of charms in California) If you order you should write HI GLITTER650 in the special instructions! I"ll probably be one of the people filling your order :D

just my two cents

Its funny how this Tiffany toggle is such a phenomenon! Some parts of the country find it as standard issue and others know of it but own the knock off and there are some places that are just ebing to ride this wave. I think the reason why this trend is a few years long is because the style is so classic and versitile.

As for my experience, they were big in my high school in Wisconsin (circa 99-00)...and supposedly WE are backwater yolkes who all live on farms.

i see more vera bradley bags on campus than i do kate spade bags

Xylochick216 01-29-2004 10:26 PM

The silver beads are HUGE here at Elon. A ton of girls have them, and I know of one chapter on campus where every girl has a set. Vera is also huge here. The new patterns are adorable!

Maybe it's just me but I think the "Vera" bags look like diaper bags. The whole floral motiff is way to mommy for me....Signature series from Coach and Dooney and Burke are far more popular here...and Tiffany's is big here also. I personally love anything from Elsa Perretti especially my open heart toggle bracelet :D

DeltaSigStan 01-30-2004 12:04 AM

Are these the type of beads those lovely ladies in American Wedding used?

Stan-
Who's ass are they going into tonight?

raiderchic482 01-30-2004 12:10 AM

Here at Tech I haven't noticed much with the necklace fashion trends, as much as the purses. I seem to see more Dooney & bourke (spelled?) and coach bags more than kate spade or any others. The letter inital purses are around too. I didn't even know that those Vera bags had a designer, I've seen quite a few girls take them to class instead of backpacks. My cousin goes to a private school up north, and says her friends would know if stuff was fake, and said the Tiffany Bean necklace is popular up there, I didn't even know what it was until she showed me a knockoff she got for christmas, but said she would give to her sis. because it was a fake. My thought is if you like it , who cares if it's real or not. Whatever makes you happy.

They should only be used with lots of lubricant and careful attention to application.

why is this? i dont get it.
and this is funny. i read this thread a few days ago, and i didnt see the connection, but then i went to the PHC fair yesterday, and at least one girl from each org had the bracelet! i didnt say anything...didnt wanna ruin my chances.

this one chick had the coolest letter sweatshirt (what to you guys officially call them?) it was her letters with her line sisters' collaged pics silkscreened into the letters. really nice.

(do NPC members use "line" or is that exclusively NPHC?)

It's not exclusively NPHC (some multicultural Greeks use it as well) but I've never heard of an NPC group using it.
