What I wanted to be
1) interior decorator
2) something in the publishing field 3)teacher- even worked in a preschool for half a second 4) a libarian 5) a human resources excu 6) a writer Right now I'm a customer service rep. I'm about a year from finshing my 2nd bachlor's in education. I stil may teach and eventually get a master's in library science. |
In my elementary years I went through the regular jobs:
Teacher Singer/Dancer Police Officer Dispatcher for the stork that drops the babies off at the houses :) -I wanted to tell him which house to drop the babies off at (I actually was one of the few naive children who believed that story for a min) Somehow in 6th grade I went far and beyond the dispatcher job to something even more rare - A professional figure skater. I chased that dream for 8 years and now am pursuing becoming one of the first/youngest African American figure skating Gold Judges. I still skated with the team up at my school Western Michigan Univ. but becoming professional is far-fetched. As far as real jobs are concerned, I want to work for the music industry with helping to develop and recruit up and coming talent as well as producing albums. At 18yrs of age, i still have at least 3 years of college to change this. |
I always wanted to be a veterinarian (my first choice), but I just couldn't get with science no matter how hard I tried.:( When I got to college, I majored in my second choice while taking some science classes that I needed anyway. That's when I found out I did a good thing by not being a pre-veterinary major.:o
My second choice was to become a journalist. That's what I have my degree in, but I don't use it. I ended up in healthcare. My third choice was teaching. My senior year in high school, I enrolled in the Teacher Cadet program to get a feel for the profession. |
When I was little, I told my Dad I wanted to grow up and be a wife and mother.... and a cpa (he was happy when I said cpa!)

Hi GC Peeps!!!!
***back at work from maternity leave****
When I was little I wanted to be: 1. An airline stewardess - Until I find out that planes crash and burn. 2. An Artist - I can draw really well, but my mother told me artists make NO money and I would turn out homeless. (she's harsh) 3. A model - I went to modeling school and did a few local shows but no "super model" stuff. 4. A veterinarian - like everyone else I realized I would be in school for eva and said forget it! 5. Go into finanacial services like my Mom which is were I am today. |
Let's see....
1. Game Show Host (of course)--as a kid I redesigned the basement to make it look like the set of Password Plus...
http://www.geocities.com/jay_anton/pplogo.JPG http://www.geocities.com/jay_anton/ppcontestants.JPG and I would pretend to be Allen Ludden *RIP*(Betty White's then husband)... http://www.geocities.com/jay_anton/ppludden.JPG and would have stuffed animals be the contestants & celebrities. http://www.geocities.com/jay_anton/pppuzzle.JPG http://www.geocities.com/jay_anton/ppanswer.JPG In addition, at school I would host games like Blockbusters and Card Sharks with my classmates. 2. Lawyer--Dan Fielding from Night Court made it look so easy 3. Airplane pilot--that's what I originally went to college for. 4. Architect (though I didn't know it by name), because as a kid I spent my spare time drawing houses in my neighborhood in precise detail block by block within a 1 square mile area. Also because I would design houses made from popsicle sticks at the neighborhood rec center. 5. Teacher--my 5th grade teacher made the job look so easy and also b/c we kids were never bad, just mischievious :D Needless to say, as I got older, that ambition didn't last long. 6. Grocery store checker--well, with the advent of self check-out, that job is soon to be obsolete. 7. Actor - I have a very natural knack for acting and drama--five years performing in various plays can't be wrong |

Well,
Early age: Art teacher Late Elem.-Freshman HS: Meteorologist Sophomore HS-1st semester of college: Architect and Interior Designer (I actually started school, with a scholarship and all, but the actuality of the job wasn't for me). I also used to want to be an XYZ (which shall remain nameless). It was family tradition, and only natural...until I realized I had to do what was right for me personally. |
When I was 3, I told my mom that I wanted to be a bus driver so I could make the wheels go round and round.
Then I wanted to be a lawyer from elementary to jr. high Then I wanted to teach Spanish in high school. Y'all I was the queen of Spanish in high school. I even founded a Spanish Club (El club de Espanol). They still have the banner that I made with my signature and underneath I wrote Founder. My sophomore year in college I decided that Spanish and I should go our separate ways. I then wanted to work as an agent for either the FBI, CIA, Secret Service, somebody!! Now, I want to work in Human Resources. However, I did get one of my wishes. I do work for a gov't agency. I'm just not an agent! |
I wanted to be an actress on "The Young and the Restless".
|
I wanted to be an advertising executive, and I KNOW I would have been a good one as far as coming up with ideas and slogans. When I got to college my major was marketing, but that accounting killed me! I had always wanted to be a teacher too, but the low pay discouraged me. I switched sophmore year to education and went ahead and did what I knew would keep me content. I NEVER EVER want to work in the months of June or July! Teaching has its perks....
