:D :p I saw it on Saturday. I think both Chris's are funny in their own way, and I like them both. However, Chris Tucker definitely should have been the Mays Gilliam(sp) of that movie, plus he looks better in a tux.

Chris Rock needs to just stick with his stand up and some comical movies here and there.

I agree that I would have much rather seen Chris Tucker in this movie (even though I haven't seen it yet, LOL). Actually, I had planned on seeing it opening weekend, but Chris Rock messed all that up for me. I had the misfortune of seeing him on 3 different shows promoting the movie and he bugged the isht out of me. He was more loud and obnoxious than he usually is. Now, I think that his stand up is funny, but outside of that, I'm not feeling him. I'm always expecting him to break out in a jig at any moment. So, he messed up my desire to see the movie. I may just see it next weekend, since I heard Bernie Mac is funny in it.

Yeah Bernie kind of cleaned up the spilled milk of the movie that Chris left and I think they should have put him in sooner and not wait till almost the middle of the movie.:rolleyes:

I just came from seeing it. Good, but I can see that Chris Tucker's will be so much better.

I was too through with Robin Givens. At the beginning she went OFF.

I dayum near flatlined when Lynn Whitfield (looked like yet another Sideshow Bob with that straw set) called Chris Rock an IAN --- ignant azz n****. :eek: I mean yeah he had his IGNANT moments, but umm well.

For those who saw Down To Earth, wasn't it ALMOST the same plot AT TIMES except he lived. :confused:

I agree. Bernie was there to pick up the slack at some points. Especially the part when they were fighting

What kinda bothered me was this: Why did they have to show that being ghetto in his campaign (i.e. the tour bus, all blinged out) was the only way he could get elected. While I'm all for "keeping it real" that still rubbed me the wrong way.

The movie was aiiight. I give it three mics :D

A Queen's reign was ended by a presidential candidate over the weekend, as Chris Rock's "Head of State" knocked Queen Latifah's "Bringing Down the House" from the top spot at the North American box office.

Rock's latest comedy debuted with $14 million, according to studio estimates, while "Bringing Down the House" was #2 with $12.5 million. Latifah's fish-out-of-water comedy, which co-stars Steve Martin, has made $100 million since its release four weeks ago.

The sci-fi adventure "The Core" debuted at #3 with $12.4 million, and the military drama "Basic," with John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson, bowed at #4 with $12.1 million. The Academy Award-winning musical "Chicago" came in at #5, adding another $7.4 million to bring its total to $144.8 million.

The rest of the weekend's top 10 includes: the Stephen King horror flick "Dreamcatcher" at #6 with $6.3 million, for a two-week $25.3 million total; "Agent Cody Banks" at #7 with $6.1 million ($34.8 million, three weeks); "Piglet's Big Movie" at #8 with $4.6 million ($12.4 million, two weeks); the flight attendant comedy "View From the Top" at #9 with $3.8 million ($12.5 million, two weeks); and "The Hunted" at #10 with $3.6 million ($29.2 million, three weeks).
