Time to add some new worst jobs to the thread and to (re)laugh at some of the old ones.
C'mon, newbies: What was your worst job? |
The absolute worst job was when I worked for the Postal Service from May to July of 2001. I was a remote encoder. This meant that for 4 hours I would sit and type in zip codes and addresses. While the pay was good ($13/hr), everything else SUCKED!!! For one, you could not talk AT ALL while working. You simply had to concentrate on the B&W computer screen and the mail image on the screen. Second, you could bring a walkman, but only after your speed was above a certain level. If it went below the level, you went back to not having headphones. In order to break up the monotony (sp?) you took a break every 55 minutes. The first break was 5 minutes, the second was 10 minutes, and it alternated back and forth. Oh, and the worse thing, two words: MANDATORY OVERTIME. This job was during the evening hours from like 6-10 PM. If it was slow, they would let you go without asking. But let the mail be backed up and you were forced to stay without asking. I'm sitting here getting mad as I type.

What was your worst job? (ttt)

My absitively posolutely WORST JOB EVA!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last year, I'd had a really tough time finding a job since I'd just finished undergrad. I had even gone to job fairs to apply for positions I knew I wasn't even qualified for. In about September, I applied for a secretarial position I'd read in an ad in my local paper. When I went to the interview, I found out that the position had just been created from the minds of two JEWISH real estate agents who were "silent partners." They needed someone to call potential homebuyers (to see if they were still interested in purchasing homes), organize their schedules and keep things in general in order.
Fast forward to the two reasons why it was the worst job I'd ever had: 1. IT PAID LESS THAN MINIMUM WAGE ($5.50/hr), AND 2. I WAS OFF THE BOOKS!!!!! I took the job b/c I needed the money and some experience. I left the job b/c these CHEAP AZZ CLOWNS weren't willing to put me ON the books (one clown asked why I wanted to be put on the books; said I'd make less $$$. The real reason was b/c he wanted to try and "fire my azz" which didn't happen b/c I'd quit). And RainMan, if you thought your old boss was degrading and belittling, you should meet my old boss: HOT HEADED SIMON. He'd probably give your boss a run for his money. Trust me. |
Sheeeeeeeeeyyouuuuuuuuutttttttt.

Did your boss refer to women as c**ts and n***er whores? Did your boss call you a dumba** and stupid s**t, and motherf***er? If he did, than I will gladly pass the crown from Jim to Simon in an instant, no questions asked. Dag, lemme finish this post, cause I'm gettin' pissed off just thinkin' about it. |

LS, not to make light of your situation, b/c I am sure that it was nothing short of pure hell, but my questions to you is this: Quote:

Obviously, I don't know you or your situation, bosses etc, but in my personal experience there are horrible bosses of all races, religions, orientations. Not all Jewish people are nasty, cruel, or bad. I know plenty Jews and the ones I have met are decent, good people. It's sad to hear you had such a bad experience but I have to disagree with what you wrote about it. I'm not looking to change your mind because you obviously have your reasons and opinions but I just wanted to communicate that I don't agree with it. |

I understand your point of view, and accept it as just that. I know that there are good and bad people everywhere, and they come in different shapes, sizes and colors. But in my post about my WORST JOB EVER (these being the operative key words ;) ), I was merely explaining my circumstances and why this particular job was my worst one ever. As far as I'm concerned, all I did was answer the question posed in this thread. Back to the ranch: RM, did I mention that they were from Palestine and considered most potential homebuyers "stupid fcuking Americans?" I think that they were also directing that comment at me whenever they felt like lashing out, but I digress. |
