Second....any Greek Organization in their right mind would never participate in this because of the situation. Please instead of coming on a fun message board for Greeks, contact their National Offices. You can go to www.nicindy.org or www.npcwomen.org (sorry NPHC and MGC, don't know your umbrella websites off the top of my head and I'm typing quickly), and get some real approval. I can betcha the first one you call will deny your request. I could be wrong as I only represent myself, but just try it!

First - so is this now supposed to be an "updated" version of Candid-Camera??

Second - as my momma says (love those momma-isms) who are "they" -- is that the equivalent of "everyone" as in "if everyone jumped off a bridge..."

Third - more than 80% could be 80.1% -- so if I were given an opportunity to jump off a bridge where 80% had survived the fall, would I give it a whirl? Okay - NO. Especially since you can't guarantee that the results will be positive (ie, I might survive but will break every bone in my body).

We all come from various backgrounds and organizations here in GC Land - but one thing you will find every single one of us united on is the issue of POSITIVE greek life images in the media. None of us want to see another "frat" story on the front pages unless it has to do with the money we raised for charity or our support to local causes that strengthen our community. That, to us, is REALITY. Its something that we do everyday of our lives -- now, are you ready to publish that for us?? If so, I can give you the dates and location that our chapter will be participating in Race for the Cure. Or, how about the schedule we have for volunteering at the shelter for victims of domestic violence? Talk about reality situations!

After recieveing a e-mail from our national chapter operations officer, I woul like to thank the person who sent it to him. However, a joke is a joke. To put our house in harms way like that would be stupid and counter-productive. As for the alumni here... lighten up. No need to cause controversy over a chatroom posting. Informing our nationals of this "shady TV show" was just wrong. Not to say that we are "in trouble", because we aren't. However, you really should trust others. After reading TNN's response to the response, I really do not think this would be a good idea. They have not contacted us yet, and they probably won't Thats fine with me. The thing I think that we should all learn from this is that things have a way of solving themselves. And oh yeah, when ratting someone out, try and not be biased towards one side of the argument. Thanks.

I have to agree with Theta. That was very inappropriate and disrecptful for someone to go behind/beyond his back and write his National Headquarters without first giving the guy a chance to:

1. Think about it and maybe consult his brothers
2. Hear back from his own advisor
3. Actually investigate this proposal on his own accord

For his National body to hear about this via second hand information was not the right way to handle things at all. If that person had just let Theta do things on his own accord, they would have found out that he did decide to NOT to pursue Alltrue's offer any further.

Because I have left only 33 messages does not mean anything. Do we judge people on how many times they post or what they post? As moderator, I think you should be more open minded to all types of posts and ideas. However, I agree that they had good ideas and I took them as that. I thanked them for their ideas. I listened rationally to their ideas. To make decision based on others and not on your own is stupid though. Nobody will ever learn anything if they don't learn for themselves. And again I understand they were looking out for my house. Thats great. But why an anonymous informant? Why not say straight up who they were? If they think it so important, then why not admit to it? I am a little disturbed at the fact that someone would go around our backs like that "to protect us". As for the person that did that, please don't do it again. And for the Gamma Chi's and the rest of GC, thanks for being there for me and my house. I appreciate it. Really. Thanks Again.

ThetaXi - Seriously, you need to just grow up. I want to hear from you in 5 years when you are an alum and you will see for yourself that that charter on the wall is worth A WHOLE LOT more than it is to you now.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA sending crashers to our event. Somehow I dont think that whoever masterminded this plan was a KA, nor had the considered the reprocusions of sending "crashers" to a KA event, and the only people in on the crash would be the "crashers", the Pres, and the social chair? How could I put this in perspective. The Pope, The Queen, and George W are all very powerful people, but do you think that they alone could bring a charging herd of bulls to a screaching halt by simply waving their hands and yelling? I probably said that wrong but I think I generally got the point across.

I appreciate good brainstorming as much as the next guy Mr. Thompson, but somehow, I just dont see this as what you would call "fool proof"

I'm inclined to agree too. I don't have a problem with reporting someone for misconduct (of any sort), but this wasn't a case of actual misconduct for anyone except perhaps the original poster.

You can't punish a person until they actually do something wrong. I saw a definite potential for rule-breaking here, but I think it's a waste of time to report someone for *potentially* committing a crime. That's like saying, "You're home alone and you have a box of matches. You could commit arson so you'd have money to pay your tuition. We're going to arrest you for having the potential to commit a crime."
