This is funny. I posted before that in S. Florida we say soda...well I went to Detroit and asked for some soda at a restaurant and the waiter had to think about it for a second...and then he said, "Oh, you mean some pop?" LOL :p
I'm sorry, soda sounds SO MUCH BETTER...lol :p |
We say POP in the Motor City!!!
|
Ha...Pretty Petite they will look at you funny here in Detroit if you ask for a soda. My husband is from Florida and he just can't seem to get used to saying POP!!
|
In Detroit, we say "pop"
In Tennessee - "cold drink" My family in Havana, Florida - "soda" or "sodawater" |
Here in Central Florida we call it soda. My good friend from New Hampshire calls it pop. Who knows...
(BTW: I hope that it's cool that I post here. If not, that's my bad.) |

I tried to pm you but I couldn't. Can you ask him if any of the following last names ring a bell: Strawter, Chandler, Lovette, or Pease. As small as Havana is, nine times out of ten we're probably related one way or the other. Sorry ladies for getting off subject. I promise not to do it again :) QUOTE]Originally posted by Dancerella1908 bro_strawter It is such a small world...my husband has some family in Havana,FL Okay back to the topic. [/QUOTE] |
In most parts of VA/DC/MD
We say Soda
|
In North Carolinaaaaaaaaaaaa... we say "soda", I hear pop and I'm think 1960's convertible with the glass bottle and funky bottle opener-you know some old guy and his grandchild. If soda isn't used we also call the drink by it's name. I've heard "cold one" a few times. And of course theres always the "Can I have something ta drank" give them water and you get the yuck face.
