Thanks for the intelligent response Sister Soror. (My roommate is a Delta) Even though I registered a while back, this the first time I have really read and posted on this site. I see that there are a lot of ignorant people out there. It's truly a shame.

So I finally figured out what LOL stands for....Loser On Line!!

This is a lil' off the subject, but...That is right go through the MIP--Membership Intake Process. Perping is useless. On the flip side those of you accussing should check some cards. There are sorors/frats who joined just to beat others (end the BRUTAL hazing) and that ain't cool. If you go through whatever to join you need to stay active in somebody's chapter (grad, if and when you graduate or undergrad)and stay financial. I mean what does it mean to be a sister only to your linesisters or those who crossed you and not nationals.

Truth be told, you can get into legal trouble if an individual truly wanted to press charges. On another level you can encounter physical harm. There was a gentleman who perped a frat at school where he was unknown. He even went as far as to get branded. When the brothers found out, they grabbed him the first chance they got and.....(suspense).....they took him into one of their houses and used an iron to burn the brand off. Don't perp, if you want the letters earn them. To those who say it doesn't matter; think of something close to your heart. If I attempt to claim it, without knowing its significance, heritage, or its meaning to you than I am disrespecting you and all love the aforementioned possession.

Girl, why would someone want to perp Zeta of all things. If someone was going to perp they would do a "REAL" sorority like AKA or DST, but Zeta, come on!!!

Zeta Phi Beta IS are real Sorority. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/mad.gifI am SICK and TIRED of people dumping on Zeta and SGRho, ESPECIALLY on THIS WEBSITE. They are NOT Delta and AKA rejects. They are intelligent, goal oriented, STORNG women with convictions and visions just as strong as an AKA or Delta. They pledged what was in their HEART. Their LOVE for Zeta is just as strong as mine is for Delta.

Yes, we do things DIFFERENTLY from predominantly Caucasian orgs. We do things a little differently from each other. We have OUR rivalries but you'd better BELIEVE that when it comes down to handling BUSINESS, we push all the bulls**t to the side and do what we need to do.

You want to know why someone would want to perp Zeta? Or SGRho? Or ANY of the NPHC orgs? Learn about what we DO and who we ARE and what we STAND FOR in OUR COMMUNITIES and you'll see why!

NOW, I KNEW A GIRL ONCE AND SHE WANTED TO BE A MEMBER OF MY SORORITY AND SHE AND I WENT TO THE RUSH TOGETHER. I GOT ACCEPTED AND SHE DIDN'T. SHE SAID SHE WAS HAPPY FOR ME AND I TOLD HER IT WASN'T THE END OF THE WORLD SHE COULD TRY AGAIN. SHE LEFT AND ATTENDED ANOTHER SCHOOL.WELL!!! WHEN AT A STEP SHOW I SAW HER AND THERE SHE WAS DECKED OUT IN RED AND WHITE. SO BEING THE POLITE PERSON I AM I TOOK HER TO THE SIDE AND ASKED HER WHAT THE DEAL WAS, BECAUSE I WAS NOT INFORMED THAT SHE HAD BECOME A MEMBER. SHE CONFIDED IN ME, AS SHE ALWAYS DID, THAT SHE WAS PERPETRATING. I ASKED HER WHAT SHE DID TO GET MY SORORS TO WELCOME HER AND SHE SAID ALL SHE DID WAS BY A SHIRT AND WORE IT ONE DAY, AND WHEN THEY ASKED HER WHERE SHE WAS FROM SINCE SHE WAS A TRANSFER STUDENT SHE LIED AND SAID SHE WAS FROM ANOTHER STATE.
THIS TROUBLED ME AND I WAS FULL OF RAGE. I DID MY OWN INVESTIGATION AND THEN I FOUND THE PROOF I NEEDED,THEN I TOOK IT TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL. AFTER THAT I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY DID TO HER BUT I AM SURE IT WASN'T PRETTY!!!
IN A PERFECT WORLD I WOULD HAVE ACCEPTED HER WITH OPEN ARMS , BUT I WORKED VERY HARD TO GET MINE AND I FEEL SHE SHOULD DO THE SAME!!!!!!!

If anyone is interested in being a Sigma Chi there's a T-shirt for sale on Ebay. The thought of posing to be something you're not is kind of dorky. Then again, I have never been in that position. Maybe the want to be in something drives people so hard that they have to lie. That's kind of sad.

If we could halt the sale of greek badges and paraphenalia on places such as Ebay, maybe we could curb this "posing" thing.

I just have one question why is a Zeta changing the words of an AKA's poem. No disrespect just want to know why????

Again, I would like to respond to you via email, but as you don't post your address, I will say this: I'm not sure, but Soror Angelou's poem may have been written well before she became a member of our sorority and is not specific to AKA. I've never looked at amendments to her poem as an insult or slight toward AKA, as the poem talks about all black women. Thus, I think people are free to appropriate the piece as they see fit, provided they do so within copyright/reprint regulations.

I never heard of Phenomenal Women as an AKA poem. I was already a Zeta when Maya Angelou was inducted as an honorary AKA. I knew of the poem well before that time so I would agree with what already has been said to correct you.

question...what does that poem have to do with perpin?
