Wow! What a lot of info in such a small space!

Sigma Sigma Sigma does NOT go by Tri Sig. Instead, we happily answer to Tri Sigma or Sigma. The official name of our philanthropy is the Robbie Page Memorial, in honor of our 4th national president's son who died of polio. (We played a major roll in funding the research that led to the vaccine! Yay us!) Since polio is not a threat today, our efforts go towards play therapy wings in several hospitals.
We don't have an official mascot, just a symbol, but some chapters choose a local mascot. Keep up the good work!

I always thought that the "OFFICIAL" philanthropy was the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. In my new member education I was taught that the Foundation was separate from the Fraternity, and that the purpose of Foundation was to serve the needs of its philanthropic focus (JDFI being a major beneficiary) as well as provide income for educational/leadership scholarships (LC/LA training), as well as emergency support (SIS).

OTW is right. I was philanthropy coordinator my sophomore year.. the OFFICIAL PHILANTHROPY of Alpha Gam is the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. We don't emphasize on Juvenile Diabetes, either, it is just Diabetes. The SIS and LC training are some of the parts our donations go to also.

Hey great page. Just wanted to let you know Sigma Chi does have a nickname. We are called the "Sigs". Good luck completing your page and keep up the good work.

For Phi Mu the Founder's Day is Jan.4, 1852 but it is celebrated on March 4 b/c that is the day that it was officially announced.
I believe if we have an official jewel it would be the pearl, and we have an additional philanthropy: Project HOPE.

Actually, at my school they do go by Tri-Sig, so i think it might just be on a chapter by chapter bases, much like the fact that the Kappa Deltas at my school are insulted if you call them Kaydees.

I think you're doing a great job! The site is lots of fun.

My only two comments are about my sorority, Alpha Phi.

Alpha Phi has no official jewel (though some individual chapters have a tradition of adopting one--usually a pearl, which corresponds with a ceremony some chapters do before initiation). The only gems allowed on our badge are pearls and diamonds. Though I wouldn't call either of these jewels recognized symbols of Alpha Phi.

Second (now I am nit-picking), there is a typo under "Colors" is says "siilver" obviously, it should be "silver."

Other than that, all I can say is WAY TO GO! What a fantastic resource you are creating!!

couple small things wrong with the Beta Theta Pi stuff, our symbol is a "Star" and mascot is a "Dragon", and the flower isnt red, its deep pink and called a "June Rose", lastly, our jewel is a "Diamond". Hope I helped, would have sent an email but your address wasn't available.

Just one more comment about Alpha Phi. According to Alpha Phi International, it is the Ivy Leaf, not ivy , that is one of our symbols.

I know this may seem like I am splitting hairs, but I just wanted to let you know.

Here is what our official website states about the Alpha Phi flowers and ivy leaf:

"Fraternity Flowers: The flowers of Alpha Phi are the fragrant lily-of-the-valley and the blue and gold forget-me-not. The ivy leaf is also a symbol, the new member badge taking its form."
