Susan,

Is the registration form on the website somewhere? I was quickly glancing around the website the other day and I couldn't find anything about Convention, although I'm sure I wasn't looking in the right spot. Can you point me in the right direction please? Thanks!

That's where you select which or all events you will be attending as well as your hotel reservation and if you'll be rooming with anyone. You could try to get a room on your own and pack 'em in, but the Marriott may already be booked. The Fraternity ususally gets a good rate due to the number of rooms that are reserved. I guess you could stay elsewhere, but it's so much more fun to stay where everyone else is - especially for late night pj parties!
As crazy as this sounds, but I really really looked forward to the meals. Why? Because IHQ and the planning committee do the meals in red, buff, and green! I have to admit, the hotels really did a great job with the rates in Atlanta. For an awesome hotel like that, I was surprised as to how reasonable it was, considering the kind of hotel Marriott was! You don't get that kind of rates here in Hawaii!!!

Maybe some of us GCers could room together? I know I don't know of anyone planning on attending other than you guys, YET!

Tee hee! When I went to Convention in Scottsdale, I took pictures of all my meals because they looked so artistic! I should see if I can dig up a picture of the dessert from Feast of Roses and scan it in so you all can get an idea of what we're talking about, lol.

I can't wait for Chicago! Its going to be phenomenal! :D

That's what I'm saying!!! Let's get everyone together and make reservations now! Because, dammit, I WILL get there! :D

In response to Sandy's post...Red buff and green meals? Are you serious??? That's freaking hilarious. At least we're not, like, Kappa Kappa Gamma. Do you know hard it would be to make meals in shades of blue? LOL

The registration form won't be out until probably early 2004. And usually they book two people to a room, unless you want to pay more for a single. You can either request a roomie or leave it up to the luck of the draw - and they will put alumnae with other alumnae! Can't remember if they will allow more than two to a room - I'd have to dig up an old registration form.

The red, buff, and green meals are beautiful and very creative! Then again, so are all of the decorations!

Well looking online, if you put 4 people to a room for that amount of time you can get it for $180 per person total- so maybe that is cheaper!

Maria, in Atlanta I took pictures of all the cheesecake we had for dessert. Even to this day, I'll still take pictures of desserts at any AGD event. Those desserts were pure works of art!!!

I can't remember if they allow more than 2 to a room. The rooms are spacious enough to fit 4 to a room, but I don't know. My chapter sisters and alumnae wanted to room with each other, so we just put a bunch of different names down, I ended up rooming with my pledge sister!

It's going to be soooo much fun!

Just saw in the Quarterly (for those of you still waiting for yours to arrive) that information on Convention registration will be in the Summer edition of the Quarterly. So only 3 or so months to wait!!!

I am sorry for crashing your boards, but I had to share how jealous I am reading about your 2004 Convention. Convention is so much fun. I hope you are all able to go and have a blast!!!

Go Syracuse Triad!

You are welcome here anytime! :) I was actually considering taking a side trip before or after Convention to visit Alpha Phi's and Sigma Alpha Epsilon's Headquarters since they are so nearby. Would I be welcome if I just dropped in, or should I call to make an appointment for a tour?

AGDLynn 06-19-2003 09:12 PM

AG-Alum!
My hubby is sitting behind me at his pc while I sit here at mine!
I read your comments to your hubby, lol! He already knows that my AGD credit card will be used for convention!

It is probably a good idea to call and make an appointment. That way you know that there won't be a meeting in Heritage Hall (where our antique badges and memorabilia are stored). They never mind when people just drop-in but if a whole lot of people decide to drop-in at one time it can get a little crazy.

Since they are both close by you may want to talk to your development person in charge of convention about putting together groups to go together to tour both offices. It would be a fun little side trip.
