Jimmy Buffett is an initiated brother of Kappa Sigma - http://www.kappasigma.org/notables/Notables.html contains a list of others, like Robert Redford, Ted Turner, etc.

As far as Sarah Jessica Parker, she's an Alpha Phi, according to my friends here.

There are lots of really neat AGD's, one of which was the last Miss America to be crowned in her bathing suit!! But, my favorite is that, although the actress Rue McClanahan is a Kappa Alpha Theta I believe, on The Golden Girls, there is an episode where she talks about her sorority years and her character, Blanche Deveraux is an AGD!! That's actually my fave one and not many people know about it!!

Barbara Bush and Dr.Mae Jemison (also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha) are honorary sisters of Gamma Sigma Sigma.

Shopgirl- Sarah Jessica Parker went to the School of Creative and Performing Arts high school here in Cincinnati, so I doubt she went to college. I would imagine after 4 years of theater/acting classes she would just go to LA. That's just my assumption, so don't hold me to it if I'm wrong. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I'm pretty sure Sarah Jessica Parker didn't go to college. She was on Square Pegs in the early 80's when she was like 18, and has been working steadily ever since.

AEPhi claims the lovable Mrs. Garett (Facts of Life), Charlotte Rae as an alum from Northwestern U. Another promininent alum is Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the U.S. Supreme Court. And a moment of silence for America's second female astronaut, Judith Resnick, who died in the Challenger explosion.

Does anyone know if Dixie Carter, "Julia" on "Designing Women", is in a sorority? I know it's a weird question, but I LOVE her on that show and was just curious. How about Delta Burke?

ZTAngel 03-27-2001 07:11 PM

Dixie Carter is a Tri-Delta. I heard from somewhere that Delta Burke was a Zeta. Not positive because we don't list her on our national website under accomplished alums but I know that some ZTA chapters include her under famous alums on their websites. Does anyone know?

OK, Delta is on "Lifetime Intimate Portrait" this evening. She won the Miss Florida title right before high school graduation, did that for a year, then went to the London Academy of Dramatic Arts for 2 years. So I would wager she was probably never in a sorority at all.
