I heard on the radio again that she WOULD pose. Maybe the DJs are lieing but why would they need to lie?

SigChi: She was on Howard Stern recently saying she DENIED playboy's offer.

FOR THE RECORD:

• Amber declined Playboy's offer.
• She will appear in Stuff's July 2001 issue.
• Alicia was also approached by Playboy, but she also declined.
• Jerri agreed to pose in Playboy, and will appear in the September issue.

Alicia and Jerri appeared on CBS This Morning with Bryant Gumbel and talked about the whole Playboy situation (as well as Michael's run for a senate seat). Jerri couldn't go into specifics, but she did confirm that she has already taken pictures with the magazine.

Perhaps the radio DJs got the wrong survivor. I hope this clears any confusion.

I have one question? If you had the body to do it for money (Posing of course) you would not do it? God they give me enuff $ and I had the body, LOOK OUT WORLD! What you see is what you get!

WOHHHHHH! What is this about Miss America? I don't know which program you are referring to, Miss America (40 % Talent, 30% interview, 15% swimsuit and evening wear) or Miss USA (No talent, interview, swim, evening all weighted equally), but Miss America is a SCHOLARSHIP pageant, who happens to be the WORLD's LARGEST donator of scholarships for women. If you've ever seen it, or know what women go through in the system, you would know that the women that compete in the Miss America system are well rounded, extremely intelligent and talent women. Our Miss California had these credentials:
1) Graduated 2nd in her class from Stanford with a 3.99 GPA in Bio/Med
2) Was voted one of the Nation's Top Ten College Students
3) Traveled over 100,000 miles to promote her platform and participate in a forums with International World Leaders
4) Traveled to China to provide free medical care for rural villagers
5) Was accepted into UCSF medical school, where there were 8000 applicants, and 244 got in

I am proud to be a Theta, and I am proud to represent my house in the Miss America Organization...

Miss America is the best. Not as much exposer but just as classy as Playboy.

I saw Amber's pictures and interview in the latest issue of Stuff magazine. They were pretty good, except they made her wear a boatload of makeup. I don't like that. She looks good enough natural...they don't need to make her look like Elvira.

Ok, it seems I have to clarify myself once again.
I never said anything was wrong with the Miss America Pagent. I believe that i even said I had nothing against it. My point was that MANY women do find it offense even though it does give out scholarship b/c a focus is beauty and sometimes swimsuits. My thing was how come people were saying it would hurt AGD if she did pose nude, but no one says anything about sorority women entering pagents considering many do find them offense?

As you see, I never said I had anything against them. I said SOME people do. Ive watched them for years and if I have no problem with Amber posing nude (in fact i think its cool), why would I have a problem with beauty pagents?

And will someone point out to me where it says in the handbook that IHQ would have a problem with it. I am sure some would, but we cant really say, and our founders were in a time when the one piece bathing suits we have today and showing any leg above the ankle was considered in decent.

I really wouldn't care either way. She is my sister and I personally would support her. However, I know my IHQ and I know they would FLIP if she did that and all 11 founders would turn over in their graves at the same time!! If she wants to, that's her choice, but I am glad she didn't for her, not for the sorority. Only people active in the greek community would prolly know and I am hoping that she wouldn't be sprawled across an AGD blanket holding a stuffed squirrel!!!
