Gamma Charter

Finally got E-M from U Mass!

Charter is not on ebay any longer , dont know what happened to it!

Jono, I checked that SX Badge and these people insane!!!!!!! Hell could get one from their National a heck of a lot cheaper!

But of Course, I paid $436.00 for TKN badge! It ids nicer than the one I dropped out on at $200.00 with one Diamond! The one I have if I did not tell you when we talked, has 7 Diamonds and the AA pearl guard. Al. Alpha Samford! If and when we get a new house build it will be there with my BX ,LXA, and TKN Badges for all to Know something about our history!

Alpha Alpha is the chapter at Butler college

Theta Alpha is Samford College.

Please make a note of it!

Hi again folks,

As a badge collector, I can tell you that the Sigma Chi badge you're talking about is INDEED worth the money it went for.

The "rope" style chains (as opposed to the "links" style) indicate it is from the 1870s or 1880s. True, it is not engraved, and the clasp does not appear to be original. But still, a badge from the first quarter century of that group is an exceptionally rare find.

Trying to compare it to a plain badge or even a pearled badge is comparing apples and oranges. There were tens of thousands of those types produced, but probably less than a hundred like this one (and 95 of those 100 were likely melted down ages ago).

Just thought you'd like to know. The bidders are not crazy.

Interfraternally,
wptw

TKN didn't use full greek letter chapter designations, so it would be Alabama Alpha. We were Indiana Gamma. Depauw, i think was Indiana Alpha. Butler, as you can tell from their Zeta designation wasn't a TKN chapter. Remember TKN chapters have T K or N in their Zeta designation. We got lucky and got TKZ, well I think it had something to do with one of our chapter bros being a fairly big part in the merger.

re: TKN badge

About the TKN badge with AA mentioned above.....

Always keep a note with it that the TKN ring and coat-of-arms
charm that were with that badge (owned by the same person)
are a Georgetown College (Kappa-Omega Zeta)! Would be
great to keep these as a "set", even if physically at 2 zetas!
