Tagalongs and Samoas - no contest. My sister was going to do the Girl Scout thing, but stopped very quickly. However, she was doing it long enough for my family to load up on those cookies.

Okay well all this talk about Girl Scout cookies is making me crave some. Does anyone know when they will be out in front the stores selling them? I havent seen any around lately!

I had forgotten to order my box of Samoas from some parent in my office, but I picked up a box of Ole Ole and Samoas from girl scouts at the local strip mall. Luckily my husband picked up a box of thin mints, which we opened tonight. My cookies are in the freezer, hopefully to stay there for a few months.

I am making a 120 mile round trip to London this weekend, to pick up my annual supply of Thin Mints. I will freeze all 6 boxes and ration them out to myself carefully, preferably eating them straight out of the freezer with a glass of milk. Yes, I know it is absolutely pathetic.

Thank God the Girl Scouts have a troop here in England!!

:D :D :D :D

Man, I miss Girl Scout cookies! I love Somoas! However, Thin Mints in the freezer are quite delicious!

I have a fundamental objection to putting little girls out on the street to peddle overpriced cookies "for their troop" when the troop gets at most 10% of the procedes.

When I was a girl scout, boxes cost $2.50 for about 10 cookies. Our troop got about .25 per box. My mom knew better than to let me go door to door, but some parents sent their 7, 8, 10 year old girls door to door for that kind of pocket change.

I'm sure that somewhere, there is an old man or woman that is getting very very rich by taking advantage of these girls, who just want to help their troop by selling cookies. Instead, though, they are lining the pockets of someone essentially utilizing sweat-shop type labor. It makes me sick just to think about it.
