Alpha Phi's HQ is in Evanston IL, right outside of Chicago. We were founded in Syracuse but our Beta chapter is right across the street from the HQ.

SAE and EX are also in Chicago.

I have been to the HQ a few times for meetings and stuff. My favorite part is a case with many antique badges in it, including some of our Founder's!

Is your beta chapter at Northwestern?

BMudd, LXA moved to Indy in 1940 and 1955 moved to Wahsington Blvd. 1972 on Founders Road!

Dont know how this compares with DU?

I agree with all who say must get tax brakes as cost to us all are high enuff!!!!:(

I just hope it soon wont cost so much that the new young people cannot afford to join a Greek Org.

Delta Tau Delta's Central Office is in Carmel, Indiana, a Northern suburb of Indianapolis.

I have been there. It is in very impressive leased space in a nice looking office building.

We are presently planning to build our own headquarters in the Indianapolis area.

I asked the "Why so many in Indy" question, and was told by a high ranking fraternity official that it was the Tax breaks offered there.

Yes, Alpha Phi's Beta Chapter is at Northwestern, across the street from our International Executive Office.

My legal fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta, is headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland.

I have visited founders road...

I have been to founders Road in Indy a few times. Pretty cool. Its in a really wierd part of Indy tho. Like theres NO Zoneing in that part of town. You have houses, next to office buildings next to manufacturing facilities, next to chain resturaunts next to refineries. Just wierd. Anyway, the "neighborhood" is pretty cool. All the HQ's there seem to be only about 20 -25 years old. The ones Iremember (its been since 97) Were Lambda Chi, DU, Kappa Alpha Theta, TKE, Sigma Kappa. I know there were more. TKEs was a nice white stucco bldg. KAT was very nice. Very southern. Big staircase in the lobby. SK is right across form LXA. When we were there in 97 we took the tour of LXA HQ and were waiting for the mailroom chick to get back from lunch, because we were loading up on supplies (instad of communicating by phone and mail - afterall we were there.) So we had an hour to kill, so we went on a walking tour. Spent about 40 mins kicking it at SK HQ. Got the tour. It was really down to earth. the unusual part, is that I have lots of friends that are Sigma Kappas. It was like being in anyone of their apts. Got to meet their International president. That was cool. Indy is a nice city tho.

I don't know if many of you saw it, but I put a picture of the Beta Theta Pi HQ on the first page of this thread. I would enjoy seeing pics. of other HQ's if at all possible, so go ahead and post them!

No, but I really want too....we have a brand new hq, and the pictures are beautiful!! I just recieved a postcard showing the outside of it, and its gorgeous!!! AOPirose, have you been to it? we should all make a trip to see it!!!!!

I'm going to be at HQ over Spring Break (last week of February) to start setting up the archives (cataloging, properly storing, etc). I was also there the first Friday in January. Its a gorgeous building--but I still don't get the padded walls! :) Seriously, the walls are covered with fabric (rather than wallpaper) that has batting behind it. Colleen couldn't tell me exactly why the decorators did it and the only thing I could think of was sound dampening.

AEPhi's national headquarters is in Stamford, CT. I've never had a chance to visit, though...

Ha Ha! It's so funny what you learn here on GC! I am naive, and I totally thought that Alpha Xi Delta's HQ named that road or something! I knew that other orgs. had HQ in Indy, but I never knew it was on that road! I want to visit our HQ's really bad. I don't live too far away from them so that's nice. Does anyone know if my HQ gives tours? No one ever talks about it and I've never seen pictures of it so I was just wondering. Maybe I'll visit this summer! :)

kristiAZD 01-28-2002 05:20 PM

Oh, P.S. Our fraternity was not founded in Indiana, but rather Illinois.
