I have to say that as a prospective I just observed Greek Chat. I bet I didn't even reply to a post for over a month & it was probably three months before I started a thread.
To the youngin's- http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif We don't mean to sound rude, we just get frustrated sometimes. Please understand from our side.
To the regs- Maybe we should think about how we felt as prospectives & try to answer as we would have liked to have been answered.
This doesn't have to be so serious. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Let's all just chill out.
Heidi

I must have missed that one, but I'm gonna run *SEARCH* for it right now -- sounds interesting! Between vacation and now this surgery mess, there is a lot to catch up on!

About sounding rude -- being sarcastic and being flat out rude *can* be two different things. I will be first in line to say that heck yeah I have been both on purpose, but some of the things posted have been pure sarcasm (ie, the worst nightmare thread)...I flat out refuse to add the byline

"this is just a bit of sarcasm not intended to hurt any feelings, real or fictional, or in any way damage the spirit of love, harmony, and happy happy, joy joy"

to every post simply because *someone* might take it the wrong way.

Amen to the Dave Letterman bit - too funny http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I agree with Bubbles. Unfortunately, many prospectives like myself have e-mailed me, in disbelief of the treatment that they have received. They are afraid to ask any questions regarding Greek Life, in fear that they will be shot down!!!!

I have to agree as well. I start posts regarding more in-depth conversations (my most recent was about diversity)...But a few people posted and then it died out...Is it that no one knows how to answer because they have never really been challenged to think about what Greek Life entails these days outside of letters and bis sis/little sis activities? Or is it that you really have nothing better to talk about than popularity??? Makes me wonder!!

I thought the point of this board, and conversation in general, is to learn about stuff, or think through things that you might not have thought of before.

Hello all. I just wanted to say that people that come to this web page have a right to post whatever questions they want, how many ever times they want. Just because you may have been here longer than them doesn't give you the right to go off on them about searching or whatever. Obviously they see the Search Button but they may not know how to navigate this web site. It took myself a while to learn how to but I'll be damned if I'm gonna have people being rude to me because I am learning. It's okay to direct them but minus the rudeness or sarcasticness. That is plain unnecessary. Keep in mind that this is not YOUR website this is a community website and we must all get along together, new or old. 'Nuff said.

Is everything ok? Lot of negativity on that page.

VctoriasSecrt 05-08-2001 08:57 AM

[TV Announcer VoiceOver] "Its called Prozac - ask your doctor or health care specialist today. Side effects include nausea, dizziness, and drymouth - the same effects were noted with use of the placebo. In some severe cases, heart attack and death were reported. Tell your doctor about any other medications you are currently taking to see if Prozac is right for you. Prozac - get on with your life!"

Um no offense, aren't you moderators supposed to set a good example for us? Just curious. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
