After living as an undergraduate student, graduate student, and staying to work and teach in the immediate Northampton area until a few years ago, I was excited to read this book. Although I enjoyed it, I still don't feel it really got all the nuances of the area. I listened to it on an audiobook, it was an easy listen.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it disgusting...more like incredibly naive to enroll there and not understand what you're getting into. Unless her grandma went there back in the Seven Sisters days and she thinks nothing has changed since then.
