I can't imagine if she's been an exemplary member otherwise, getting kicked out for something ridiculous like wearing letters at a party ONCE. And I can't imagine a national HQ upholding such a termination.

tiffers, methinks your sister is not telling you the whole story/there is more going on than you know.

Honestly, I can't imagine someone getting kicked out of a chapter just for their PRESENCE at a party. A firm slap on the wrist for sure (social probation or something), but termination? And yes alcohol+letters=really bad, but I still can't imagine it getting someone terminated. This just doesn't add up.

A girl who just got terminated from my sorority that I'm still friends with is planning to transfer back to her home state and re-rush and I was curious about whether that was even possible. I know it's against the rules and that you SHOULDN'T but I was curious as to whether or not it is POSSIBLE.

I appreciate the faith (and sarcasm) from my panhellenic sisters though. Y'all are gems.

As the prophet said, there is little that is new under the sun. I'll bet the scenario you describe has happened. That person would have to be a really good card player (metaphorically) to be able not to give away her previous experience.

Just about anything is possible -- someone in the federal witness protection program might be given a different NPC affiliation as part of a new identity!

I agree with what several have said, kicked out after one incidence? I doubt it. Now were there compounding issues? You said she lied about who was there. Maybe she was caught for that. Or was is during recruitment, when you are not allowed to attend fraternity parties.

Even then, I doubt she was kicked out for a first offense. More likely put on probation and asked to attend some sort of alcohol counseling/awareness seminar. Maybe she was put on probation and failed to complete the assigned tasks.

Or she was embarassed and decided to drop and just told you and "everyone" that she was kicked out.

Since generally what happens at standards/chapter relations/whatever you want to call it is confidential, it's not like the other chapter members present at the meeting can talk about it.

Oh but come on everyone! She was covering for all those other sisters who did the exact same thing! It's like she's a martyr! She totally deserves a new sorority!
