"Cow Omega" ?

Ive never heard of a weak Chi Omega chapter.

I have been witness to a very weak Chi O chapter and a very strong one. Both at different schools I went to. Chapters vary from school to school, so finding out how your sorority is doing at whatever school is not necessarily useful info. Love your sorority no matter what!

I've heard the Chi Ho thing, but not Cow Omega. I've only heard the Cow thing with Phi Moo. Like it was said, all sororities have a name to dis them.

I am not aware of any weak ChiO chapters (relatively speaking with the other chapters on a particular campus). From what I know, if a chapter is not keeping up, nationals usually gets involved, and they either meet a standard or they lose their charter. Sometimes, I think they pull the charter too soon, but since I am not there, I am not the one to judge.

Sometimes it doesn't matter if your chapter is weak or strong. If there is a nickname that can be "cleverly" made of your letters or that rhymes people will use it.

I do have a question. A good friend of mine is a Chi-O at another university in Oklahoma. Ya'll have like four here. The ones I know if are OU, OSU, TU, and East Central. I personally don't know much about the East Central chapter but I do know that East Central is a small regional school (AKA-easy to get into). Most people that go there end up transfering to a state university after a year or two. She gets very frusterated because they have to take them and they aren't the same type of girls they would have pledged. It does make the house bigger in numbers though. My chapter also has this problem. I was just wondering if any of you have this problem of girls from weaker chapters affiliating. It's like being between a rock and a hard place. They are sisters but they change the make up of your chapter and we can't do much about it. Just curious.

About having to take transfers, you don't. If I were to transfer to another school and wanted to affiliate with a Chi Omega chapter there, that chapter would vote to have me join their chapter. If I was not a "high quality" person, they would not have to accept me into their chapter. On the other hand, say that chapter wasn't one I fit in with, I would not have to affiliate with them.

Sorry to jump in on your discussion (since I'm not Chi O) but from experience, I have to say that having a semester to decide the affiliation process is a good idea. I wish I had taken a closer look at the new chapter instead of just assuming things would be the same.

The Chi Omega chapter at Montana State is the largest sorority on campus. They are a bunch of fun girls and always seem to be having a good time. I have three really good friends in the chapter, two of them just graduated, and one will be a senior next fall. For living right across the street from them, though, we don't do a whole lot of things together. The one thing we have is an ongoing prank war that's gone back farther than i can remember!

Well, I'm not going to yak on and on about my own chapter(which is the best!! :D ) but I do want to say this: I have a friend who is in the University of Louisville chapter (Beta Gamma I think) and she represents them so well!! Shes so smart, funny, beautiful-she rocks!!

Chi Omega had such low numbers at USC that in the 90's they had to close down. Oh well.

The Chi Omega's at ECU that I met were really nice girls and last I heard the highest GPA requirement. They seem to be a great chapter and have their stuff together.
