Once they're gone for bid matching, it really is one big giant day of HURRY UP AND WAIT. You wait. And change into sweatpants. And wait. And get the NM goodie bags together. And wait. And set up the house for bid night festivities. And make "welcome back" signs for your SRCs. And wait some more. The advisors return with your Bid List. YAY and OMG!!! ensue. Then you wait. And change clothes again into your Bid Night attire. And wait. Then have a dance party. And wait. Then you go get some food because you're starving. And wait. Meanwhile, the PNMs are waiting in the Student Center. From the time after their last party until Bid Night, they are NOT PERMITTED to leave. They have it worse than the members do because at least we were at home. They do not receive bids until right before Bid Night. There's a lot of nervous people. Then, sometime around 6 PM (7 hours after the last Pref), we get the call from the Panhellenic VP of Recruitment to come over to the Ballroom to start Bid Night. You walk over, and probably wait an extra 45 minutes because they are not done giving out bids (it's a huge single file line and it takes awhile.) Then, around 7:30 or 8 (sometimes closer to 9) Bid Night kicks off! Long and nerve-wracking day for everyone but so worth it! |
Thanks everyone! I could not be happier.

Congratulations and welcome to what is, in my humble opinion, the most awesome sisterhood ever! ;)
When you get a minute, stop by the DZ forum and say hey! DZLAM, KR |

To the OP...Congrats on DZ!!! |
I liked that we had pref and bid day on the same day because if I had to wait overnight I probably would have died. It was an agonizing seven hours of sitting around and doing nothing though.
