Breaking it was taking fate into his own hands which he had thus far refused to do. That scene was totally against his character. :(

Agreed. And it's not like they didn't have time to do that either. They split the book in two, they had time. And don't even get me started on the 'King's Cross' scene. Sooooo baddddd.

Generally speaking, I hate any movie that ends by setting up a sequel.

Especially if a sequel is never done. An example would be the Planet of the Apes remake done with Mark Wahlberg. I actually enjoyed the movie but they left it for a sequel and nothing happened. I hate that!

A few years ago they made the Stephen King book "The Fog" into a bad movie. The end in the book is much more mysterious and creepy rather than the straight up goofy ending the movie had!

Even though I know what happens at the end of Titanic, I still had hope that everyone would be okay! hahaha

I liked the King's Cross scene though I wish the tone had been more innocent and light rather than serious.

To this day, I still can't watch only half of Finding Nemo. I know what happens but I can't turn it off until they find him! :p

Agree.

Also, Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, Castaway and Knowing.

I actually liked the ending to Remember Me, depressing though...

Ugh! Knowing was shaping up to be such a great movie and then that ending came out of nowhere. Terrible.

Ugh, yes! I haven't read the books, but the ending of them all at the train station was so unnecessary, hokey, and unbelievable. The movie should have ended with them all on that bridge at Hogwarts.

Well the epilogue in the books was basically to let things come full circle and show how things are better including for Remus and Tonks's son. And remember the core of the movie watchers are those who have read the books. While the book readers represent that a *lot* had to be tweeked/deleted to make it into a movie, *that* scene was *not* going to get cut.

Besides, as I said upthread, the scene on the bridge isn't even in the book, in the book, after voldemort dies, Harry, Ron and Hermione go back to the Headmaster's office, talk to Dumbledore's photo, indicating that the want will be placed back in Dumbledore's Crypt and Harry heads back his room in Hogwarts...

The ending of Watchmen pissed me off because it was so different from the graphic novel.

Agreed with Atonement. Along the same lines, City of Angels.
