I must be getting old and sentimental, plus my daughter is a senior in high school...that brought a tear to my eye seeing things from the PNM's point of view!

Here's a good one that's new for fall 2017: Delta Gamma at Texas A&M. A friend's daughter is in this chapter. No glitter or Snapchat filters involved! (Though I'm not a fan of the headline of the article,)

ChioLu, that video is so cute! And I agree, that title is unnecessary. These young women should be allowed to have fun and promote the wonderful aspects of their sisterhood without being relegated to "future wives", especially since so many people stick to that stereotype of sorority women wanting a "ring by spring" or only in college for "an MRS degree", while they're in the middle of breaking those tropes right in the video!

Also, am I the only one who feels like it's not the most egregious thing in the world to have "stereotypical" videos? If girls are having fun on the beach or having a dance party, why do people care so much? I get that people say those expensive, professional videos aren't about sisterhood, philanthropy, leadership, or scholarship, but they're just fun promo videos. PNMs will see the sisterhood during recruitment, and I've always seen these types of things are just getting PNMs excited about it. The only real problem I have is how unoriginal it's gotten. Like come on, I've seen the same girls lying on the ground in a circle 1000 times now!

I liked it, but could not understand one word of the songs!

At the campus where I advise, they have now done away with chapter videos during recruitment. Campus says they are all just blowing glitter and hugging on the football field, etc., and are of no real value to the PNMs. The only videos they may use are professionally done videos for IHQ or your philanthropy.

^^^ Hope additional panhellenics choose to follow this lead. Guess once that Vandy sports team made a parody video the whole idea was over and done.

While I am thrilled that this is one of my chapters and at an SEC school where Greek life seems to run amock a good part of the time, I feel compelled to say that I don't "get" these. I guess I've sat thru too many recruitment parties where the PNMs had NO clue what any of it was about. Seriously, I think they can spend the money elsewhere and get more bang for their buck.
