May your cyberdeath be cyberslow and cyberpainful. Everything SATC is awesome except for the 2nd movie that I wish never happened.

It's on Netflix now, so I caught it again this past weekend. It reminded me why I like Tarantino and Rodriguez :)

Have you seen parts 2 or 3? I heard 3 was good, but I've added both to my queue.

Completely disagree:

It takes A LOT to get me to laugh, especially at a movie, and Modern Family and The Hangover always have me laughing hysterically. I love Mumford and Sons, and I don’t think that they’ve been thrown in everyone’s faces the way that other artists mentioned here have been. And Independence Day rocks.

Completely agree:

9) LeBron James. He doesn't even TRY when Cleveland gets to the finals, then blames everyone and everything but himself. Fuck him.

Lady Gaga needs to go. I’m incredibly sick of hearing about Angelina Jolie every other minute. Ben Stiller is the WORST actor… I didn’t even like Zoolander. LeBron James needs to get over himself… and everyone else needs to get over him, too. I’ve actually tried to like 30 Rock, but I just can’t do it. Baldwin, Carrey and Farrell – THANK YOU for saying this! .. I thought I was the only one! The Office is another show that I’ve tried really hard to like, but it’s just not happening. Steve Carell isn’t my favorite, either.

Completely agree with Lady Gaga. I don't have anything against goofy fun mindless pop music - I actually like some stuff by Katy Perry and Ke$ha a lot - but people act like LG is on a different/higher plane and she's going to have a career the length and depth of Frank Sinatra's. I don't see it happening.

Yes to all of this!

As for authors, Jane Austen. I just cannot get into her to save my life. I feel like that makes me a terrible English major for saying that but oh well. Also, Virginia Woolf. Mrs. Dalloway made me never want to read another book again. Thankfully professor followed it up with DH Lawrence so he redeemed himself.

All of this. I don't find the Office or Will Ferrell funny. His entire screaming bit makes me want to run out of the room screaming.

I have tried so hard to read Jane Austen so many times, different books too! I never seem to make it past the first chapter or so.

As for music groups, how did I forget the Black Eyed Peas earlier? Really don't get the appeal. At all.

BEP pre-Fergie was a lot better.

1. Amen! I loved BEP before Fergie. I wish Fergie had gone away after Wild Orchid (they weren't horrible) went away.

2. I like The Office. :) I heard the original The Office (British version?) is better.

3. I think Alicia Keys has some good songs (my fav is "Like You'll Never See Me Again" (very Prince-ish) and I also like "Secrets," "Unthinkable (I'm Ready)"). Other than that, I think her VOICE is overrated. She's a wonderful writer and wonderful musician. I remember when she used to come on Teen Summit as a teenager and before she had a record deal. Awwww, time flies. :)

Does anybody think Zac Efron is a super-dynamic thespian, the future of American cinema, or even anything beyond a good-looking body that occasionally remembers lines?

Maybe I have a different definition of "Overrated" than some?

The problem with the UK Office is that David Brent (played by Ricky Gervais) is just soooo awkward that it literally makes me squirm. Michael Scott has this lovability (if that's even a word) to him that is kind of endearing and people kind of realize that his character, while an idiot, mostly has good intentions. David Brent is just slimy and weird. But, a lot of people like it a lot better. It only ran for a couple of seasons, though. :(

So, the American version lasted longer. I really like The Office. :) I also like Steve Carell.

Glee

Brad Pitt
Angelina Jolie
Chelsea Handler (I don't find her funny. Maybe I just don't get it.)
American Idol
The Bachelor
The Bachelorette

I agree with all these except Chelsea Handler. She's funny sometimes.

But not these. I am a closest top 40 fan in the car. There's something about vapid, catchy lyrics that have become my guilty pleasure.

Nooooooooooooooooo! I'm obsessed with Mumford recently. British folk rock = basically my dream genre, and it's super chill, which is the phase I'm definitely in with my 'real' music tastes (i.e. not top 40 stuff).

Forrest Gump?!?! This is my favorite movie, by far. It has just a little bit of everything, which is why I love it so.

Absolutely not. I will not stand for this. Yes, it's a cult, but I started reading HP when I was almost 11 and I fully expected to get a Hogwart's letter so I wouldn't have to go to middle school. The last movie is now coming out now that I'm done with my fourth year of college. I.grew.up.with.Harry.Potter. And I will never, ever speak ill of him or allow others to.

I don't have anything at all against Top 40. I just get annoyed when people try to get all cerebral and serious about Gaga like she's some sort of deep, musical genius.

Oh I totally understand. I kind of wish I didn't like listening to it, but it's just too darn catchy.

Also apparently Gaga is actually a talented musician (i.e. she went to Tisch School of the Arts for about two years before going out on her own) but my theory is that she realized being shocking and sexual made more money than a classical career any day.

No, I had the same thought when Efron and some others like Jennifer Aniston were brought up.

Yeah, I know lots of people love it. But I don't -- I probably would have walked out of the theater if we hadn't been there with friends. I've given it a try once of twice since then, but I just can't watch it. It's just way too syrupy and lacking in subtlety for my taste.
