I love Peeps.

Fannie May Creme Eggs - especially Trinidads!
Cadbury Mini Eggs - these are 10,000,000 times better than M&Ms

Reese's peanut butter eggs, jelly beans and post it notes with rabbits on them (yes, I am a nerd). My Easter baskets were the best!

One thing that I would ALWAYS get in my Easter basket was this mini egg crate, filled with egg-shaped bubble gum. It was so incredibly random, and to this day, I still wonder where my mom bought those things. I’ve never actually seen them in a store… ever.

Found a picture!

.. except the cartons weren't clear - my brother would always get the solid blue carton, I would get the pink. And the label was different. I couldn't tell you what the label looked like, but if I saw it today, I'm sure I'd recognize it immediately.

And btw... Cadbury creme eggs rule. Peeps are disgusting.

And I’m not a big chocolate fan, so I usually just eat the top off of the Cadbury eggs, then lick out all of the cream filling (no inappropriate jokes, please!)

I'm reminded of a quote by the comedian Lewis Black:
"Candy Corn is the only candy in the history of America that's never been advertised. And there's a reason. All of the candy corn that was ever made was made in 1911."

I think this applies to Peeps, as well.

Stale peeps.
Gummy bunnies covered in sugar. (Gumdrops, but in Bunny shapes).
Hard boiled eggs that we decorated the night before and left out for the bunny to put in our baskets.
Chocolate covered marshmallow eggs.
Hiding the baskets throughout the house.

Cadbury Mini Eggs - Yes.

Cadbury Cream Eggs - Hand them over to my sister, who loves them.

Peeps- In small doses.

Snickers Eggs, Reeses Eggs - Yes, please.

Choco/Marshmallow Eggs - Sure.

Chocolate Bunny - Only if it's Whitman's grade chocolate or higher. Lindt, Cadbury, etc.

Jelly Beans - Meh.

Russell Stover Maple Cream Eggs - Aaaaawwwww yeah. Jackpot.

I remember in 5th grade, my mother slipped a pack of disposable razors into my basket for the first time, and they were staples in Easter baskets and Christmas stockings from then on.

Ditto the Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs and Starburst Jelly Beans. MMMM.

We were talking about this at work today and I said, "Listen carefully, because you'll rarely hear me say this: Peeps are just much too sweet for me!"

Although I like the little dioramas done with them. I have an idea for next year!

I don't know if anyone puts these in Easter baskets, but I really love the Pillsbury break-and-beak sugar cookies with bunnies and eggs on them. They are sooo delicious.

nittanygirl 04-19-2011 12:09 AM

Reese's pieces in a carrot shaped bag
Chocolates from the local chocolate place shaped like bunnies that I only eat red hots off of

I'd really like to see more sour patch kids. My boys mom is the only one who truly understands my candy habits. She actually just brought me an Easter gift bag tonight with sour patch jelly beans, tootsie pops and reese's eggs :) She rocks!
