I don't think its hazing, i just think its fucking retarded to think that wearing a pin 24/7 is a sign of you being a worthy aspirant to come into our bond.

what happens if you don't wear it? They drop you? Its stupid haha

At least with Psi U, we wear it on the innermost layer, so you usually wouldn't see it.

That makes sense!

This is a very definite possibility, lol

My fiance's good friend lived with a Sigma Chi and I remember that he ate dinner with all of us a few times during our freshmen year. I don't ever recall seeing a pledge pin. But as you mentioned, maybe I just didn't notice.

But that brings up a question--so if you HAD to wear your pledge pin everywhere during pledging...and you HAD to wear a collared shirt with your pin...did that mean that you HAD to wear a collared shirt everywhere?

And come to think of it, I never saw my fiance wear a pledge pin either...and I saw him quite often when he was pledging. From what I understand, his chapter was pretty traditional.

Who said that was the reason for doing it?

But since you think it's stupid, I'm glad for you that you joined a group that doesn't do it. Meanwhile, those of us who do require it will give your opinion the due it's worth -- none.

Thats awesome. I chose Lambda Chi for a few of the reasons in the pledge process but mostly others.

I also apologize for assuming, but I just didn't see another reason to wear a pin 24/7 haha

Since you seem to need to spelled out:
Stop saying that gay people wear specific types of clothing AND using gay as a veiled insult at the same time.

Quote:

only hipsters and gays wear American Apparel
In this part of your quasi-sentence you stereotyped.

and you sure ain't a hipster.
And in this one, you called the OP gay, and it wasn't a statement of fact or a compliment, it was an insult.

Stop.

You are f'ing killing me, I swear you try to get offended by certain posters, don't you? That was tongue-in-cheek and directed to a poster who says he doesn't dress like a fag.

AA has also done a lot to support/cater to the gay community so I found it quite amusing to read that he wears AA but doesn't dress like a FAG.

That wasn't directed at you, but at AA's hypocrisy.

Because bringing AA's attitude toward gays wasn't a distraction from your idiotic statements or anything.

Well your group doesn't have pledging, so we don't expect you to understand.

But aside from that, is LXA the only IFC group that uses the term aspirant? I've only heard it in a NPHC/MGC context before.

You can assume all you want about the meaning behind my "idiotic statements" because I really don't give a shit what you think. All you ever do is try to start online arguments with anyone who thinks differently than you or doesn't a hold quasi-liberal view on life. Did you know that some members on GC will not even participate in a political thread just because they don't want to deal with YOU?

Seriously, just because someone doesn't share the same beliefs as you doesn't give you the right to jump down their throat, tell them to fuck off, or call them an idiot. Grow up Drole. If you want people to respect your views you need to start showing the same courtesy.

--And yes, I will criticize a guy who posts that he doesn't dress like a "fag" but wears clothes from an extremely gay friendly company.
