Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't a PNM theoretically get multiple bids in a COB situation?

ETA: I'm clearly really slow at typing tonight, or my internet connection sucks. Now I'm just waiting for someone to announce they know which school the OP goes to :D

Yeah and that appears to be what the OP is talking about. A semi-structured/informal COB period.

Thanks Drolefille...I guess I'm about 45 seconds too slow on my posts tonight. Oh well, it's either post slowly or post with typos! :D

You're fine. It's ok.

^^No, she was just curious because your school used a different structure than others do.

AZTheta 01-06-2011 01:56 AM

all right, OP, you asked: is the dress style you posted something that is worn by everyone else? In other words, it won't look out of season or out of place?

Dang, where's ellebud?

I like the whole tan dress better the white trimmed one.

Also please do not wear tights - these are too summery for that, at least they look like they are.

If it is the school I think it is, with the way people described the process last year it seemed like an invite driven COB but under a sort of informal umbrella. The first event was all the chapters being represented in a big meeting room and then later pnms receiving invites to a series of parties from chapters that continued to be interested in them until a set deadline where all parties had to have ended and bids had to have been given out.

Well the dress I was thinking about wearing is just the style on the left- but it is completely grey with tiny black polka dots so no white anywhere. I would probably wear a little black sweater or something as well if everyone thinks thats showing too much skin since its like a "vintage halter" dress.
I was just considering tights/pantyhose since it will probably be cold out but I am not too sure how it would look with this dress

i don't like the dress on the left-it looks sort of costumey to me. it also looks summery and colored tights would not look right with it.

maybe you could find a dress in the style of the one on the right-that's a nice dress.

I agree. I think you'd stand out, but not in a good way. Especially in the SEC. But just my opinion.

I second this!

Okay, so the first night, you have a chance to meet with all of the sororities? Are they just giving presentations and stuff, or do you talk to the girls one-on-one, or what?

I think that you should be totally up-front, and say that you rushed last year, decided you weren't ready to pledge, and are now ready. Ideally, you should have some supporting info as to why that is. If a chapter gave you a bid last year, you better believe they remember you, and they will want to know from the get-go why they should spend time on you again.
