Bumping to continue the geeking out I started in the badge trends thread.
At Phi Mu Alpha's National Convention this past summer, an announcement was made that the National Executive Committee has decided the expand to facilities at our headquarters, Lyrecrest, with the building of a new Retreat and Education Center. A capital campaign, the Lyrecrest Fund, was kicked-off at the Convention, and something like $130,000 (of the $1M that needs to be raised over the next 4 years) was donated or pledged by those present before the end of Convention. Here are some architect's drawings of the new facility: https://lyrecrestfund.sinfonia.org/w...r-exterior.jpg https://lyrecrestfund.sinfonia.org/w...nter-porch.jpg https://lyrecrestfund.sinfonia.org/w...r-interior.jpg https://lyrecrestfund.sinfonia.org/w...-classroom.jpg https://lyrecrestfund.sinfonia.org/w...interior-2.gif As I understand it, the Lyrecrest Fund will also provide for some renovations to existing buildings, and I believe that a future second phase may contemplate an auditorium. This just gets me so excited. |

Chi Omega Executive HQ in Memphis, TN opened its doors in January 1994. Our first Executive Office was in Lexington, KY and we spent many years in Cincinnati, OH.
http://i829.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps64a99cd0.gif Situated on 1.5 suburban acres, the building has more than 23,000 square feet. Inspired by 18th and 19th century architecture, its design incorporates elements of English-Georgian and Jeffersonian. The building's three floors include a foyer opening into a two-story main gallery, archival display, vault, library, staff offices, boardroom, meeting/training space, kitchen and lounge areas, overnight accommodations for travelers on Chi Omega business and our Chi O Creations Boutique. The landscaping uses the wooded lot's natural setting and includes a gazebo and myth garden. |
