I was so sad to see Team Glee come in last. Why, oh why, couldn't it have been the Team Volleyball? I hope that if TAR does another All-Star season, they ask Team Glee back.

Yeah, but to leave the pit stop in first place and still come in last? Pathetic; they deserve to go. Maybe if Connor had a real partner, things would have been different.

Can't argue too much. And they had an hour lead when they left the pitstop.

Their first mistake was not looking for an earlier flight before it was too late; they should have done that immediately. Their second mistake was not switching tasks sooner.

Still, I enjoyed watching them race.

For Team Glee and their "Princeton this, Princeton that..." I guess Princeton doesn't do anything to teach "street smarts".

I loved it when the guy from the tattoo couple asked the cab driver in Ghana to take him to the Arctic Circle. How dumb can a person be?

Remember, this is the same team that thinks London is a country. Loved Nikki's line that they are physical competitors, but don't do well when it is mental.

Team Stupid dodged a bullet tonight.

Yeah, I was actually kind of glad. They are entertaining.

And they were the only ones we saw do the music challenge intelligently -- one piece at a time.

Of course, the musician in me was rooting for at least one person to listen to all three Gramophones and then say "okay, we need to find "Pictures at an Exhibition," "Scheherazade" and Tchaikovsky's "Troika."

Lol, Mr. DBB was watching with me, and he said the same thing. I thought he was going to throw things through the screen. The other thing that was unclear (as I was studying at the time): did they have the real sheet music? That also should have helped at least a team or two.

I had a feeling it was a non-elimination round.

Kevin, you'd better start listening to your dad every now and then. You just cost yourself a Travelocity trip.

Ok... my dvr cut it off right as the last two teams were racing to Phil. What happened? Did M and K get a penalty? What about the bags for C and S?

And why didn't the las vegas team have a speed bump?

AGDee 11-08-2010 01:05 AM

C and S had to go get their bags. M and K got a one hour penalty for their two breaches of the rules. C and S got back and got a 30 minute penalty for their breach, but they had gotten back in less than 30 minutes.. so.. M and K's penalty was longer and they are done. The crazy thing was, I distinctly heard either M or K say "Read the whole clue, every word, so we don't make a mistake".

I also wondered why there wasn't a speed bump for them. Was there any penalty for them being last in a non-elimination leg?

Claire and Brooke are so much fun to watch. I find them very likable. I like the doctors team a lot too.

I was thrilled to see M&K go home because Kevin farked up. Show a little respect for your dad, Kevjumba.

I wondered the same thing. The only thing I could figure was that there was so much else going on that they edited it out. Perhaps it was as lame as the last one (Kevin and Michael sitting on ice chairs for 10 minutes), which was really a time penalty, not a speek bump.

I wish that they'd make the rule that if you survive a non-elimination round, you have to do both tasks on the detour of the next leg.

True. But since there doesn't seem to be a Yield this season, at least not so far . . . .

Edit: Word on the net is that there was no speed bump due to a production error. According to the story (uncorrobarated officially so far, as best I can tell), Nick and Vicki actually completed the piano task much sooner last week, but the clue-wielding judge told them they had it wrong so they kept trying. (Whether this was before they switched to the film task or after they came back, I don't know.) But for the judge, they would have hit the mat a lot sooner. So, the last leg was hastily made a non-elimination leg. It was pointed out, and I think this is correct, that when Phil told them it was a non-elimination leg and they were still in the race, he wasn't shown saying anything about a speed bump.

The story seems plausible, but if it's true, it's beyond me why they didn't offer a simple explanation -- "Due to a production error, Nick and Vicki had to keep working on the piano task even though they had actually correctly completed it. As a result, they will not be required to complete a speed bump in this leg of the race."

AGDee 11-08-2010 04:39 PM

Phil did not say anything about a speed bump when he told them it was a non-elimination leg. I thought it was just cut out for time purposes at the time. It does seem that a simple explanation would have been helpful rather than leaving us all wondering how they got off so easily. Given the circumstances, it was exactly the right thing to do.
