co-sign w/ Sen., kids are bad. If the janitor's been doing their job those bathrooms shouldn't be that bad anyways. I've subbed and volunteered in a variety of schools and the restrooms I've seen haven't been anything THAT awful (thank God).

It's the extreme, but feces are full of bacteria. Schools have biohazard rules that probably prohibit students from cleaning the bathrooms. Hence the DoE getting involved.

I didn't want to say it earlier, but HIV really doesn't need to be part of this discussion.

What if one of the students has an open wound? Licking the pot clean wouldn't be necessary to contract something.

It is important to be responsible about the spread of information regarding HIV/AIDS because there is still stigma attached to this disease.

There is no evidence that HIV can be contracted from cleaning lavatories and most would agree that it cannot be contracted that way.

The kids should be blindfolded and made to clean the toilets with their toothbrushes after squeezing peeled bananas in the toilet.

Biohazard regulations have changed in the last 10-15 years or so and it's slowly trickling down. Anything besides sweat is considered biohazard now and each state has regulations as to how to clean that up.

I'm just saying, if they're going to make them do it, they better be following the letter of the law as far as biohazardous materials are concerned. Especially because there's always that little asshole in a school that likes to wipe his/her shit on the walls.
