Why is there no fence around this ridiculously large hole in the ground that inevitably leads to death?

Even bigger question: If this happened last week, why does it seem like people are just finding out now? Very few people I talked to today had heard about it and the ones who had just found out in the last day or two.

Jesus be a really really really really really big fence. :eek: This is heartbreaking but at least no deaths have been reported since it happened (not from the hole anyway).

According to the article, people have been complaining of weak structures and shifting ground since 2005. Now that the hole is open, some say it sounds like there's an underground river down there. Oy vey.

What about trying the "junk shot" method that BP wanted to use with the oil spill? Just fill the hole with old tires and golf balls and then pave right over it!:D
