It was the most awesomely ignorant thing in a minute.

There was another one that had actual (DIRTY SCARY LARGE MALE) Hispanic people crossing the border to cops doing nothing and people holding checks. She had the audacity to say that "well they're not necessarily Hispanic, you know we have to worry about Canada too" or something idiotic along those lines. It's been pulled I think, but I'll look for it after work.

Illinois' got a judicial recall fight (and we didn't even legalize gay marriage) from some pro-business PACs. The ad's pretty disgusting IIRC. Another one I'll look for after work.

She actually said that? LOL.

“I think that you're misinterpreting those commercials,” Angle told the students on Friday. “I'm not sure that those are Latinos in that commercial. What it is, is a fence and there are people coming across that fence.”

“What we know is that our northern border is where the terrorists came through,” she said. “That's the most porous border that we have. We cannot allow terrorists, we cannot allow anyone to come across our border if we don't know why they're coming. So, we have to secure all of our borders and that's what that was about, is border security.”

Then later:
Quote:

ut on Monday morning, the Las Vegas Sun’s John Ralston pulled another nugget from the meeting — Angle said that some of the members of the Hispanic Student Union looked like they might be Asian.

“So that’s what we want is a secure and sovereign nation, and, you know, I don’t know that all of you are Latino. Some of you look a little more Asian to me. I don’t know that,” Angle said, according to video posted by the Nevada paper. “What we know, what we know about ourselves is that we are a melting pot in this country.”

Angle then claimed that she too has been confused as a different ethnicity, seemingly in an attempt to illustrate her melting pot point.

“I’ve been called the first Asian legislator in our Nevada State Assembly,” Angle said.

I can't find the ad I was thinking of, so maybe that one was someone else? But the one linked in thread gets the point anyway.
here's the illinois judge ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxnL8...eature=related

They claim he sided with child molestors and murderers. He's explained that these were all procedural cases. He's not a trial judge but an IL Supreme Court judge.

Inflammatory, you bet.

Not defending Angle in any way, but my husband has actually mistaken an Asian for a Hispanic before. They do have similar features in some cases.

And if your Mexican husband has done it then that just proves it all.

She's an idiot. Another example of why people should not think out loud. Formulate your thoughts and then make a statement.

"He's one tough nerd"

So, this guy is still in the race. He won the Republican primary and is 20 pts ahead in the polls. Michigan will probably have "one tough nerd" as their next Governor.

I believe she was speaking to a college's Hispanic/Latin@ student association, though I could be wrong. So it was a particularly dumb statement.

But she's a freaking moron, so that's to be expected.

Yes, she was speaking to the Hispanic Student Union.

All members of (insert race and ethnicity) Student Unions do not have to be of that particular race and ethnicity. However, whether they are Hispanic or not wasn't the topic that she was supposed to be discussing. LOL. Basically saying "are all of you Hispanic? Some Asians and Hispanics look similar. I get called Asian sometimes" was the most random thing ever. It not only screams idiot but it also screams "white person desperately searching for a way to converse with and relate to racial and ethnic minorities."

And try to escape the obvious placement of Hispanics as illegal immigrants in her ads when actually in front of people from the same ethnic group.

Funny how the backpedaling starts.

Still haven't decided how I'm going to vote... but here's a Glee-inspired Quinn ad.

I wonder if Brady's Lt. Governor running mate has a stutter. If that's the case, I might vote Brady just because of the assholishness of Quinn be an adult and pick on a guy with a stutter.

Ok, not an ad, but in the spirit of election season, enjoy.

He looks like he's going to puke.

I wish I was still registered to vote in New York.

You mean, those weren't Asians in that commercial? They all look alike so who can blame Angle for being confused.
