stay strong, hampton

Rest assured that your words of wisdom have been widely circulated. We do also enjoy the back and forth with the riff raff: You make your excellent points. The losers go on the attack; you defend yourself, and the then the losers call you defensive. Only comment I would take issue with is your idea that Kappa Sigma National is not interested in being at Cornell. They’ve had a chapter there for over a hundred years and surely know better than to walk away from a great institution and its alumni.

Oh how did I miss this pretty little gem.

Well, both congressman and members of the state legislature. The fact that the drinking age is 21 is the result of laws passed by the individual states, however this was the result of armtwisting by the US Congress, where a state would lose 10 percent of its money from the Highway funding allocation if it didn't make 21 the drinking age (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?...inking_Age_Act)

Didn't see the edit until now. So along with everything else you can't do simple math. 27> two dozen. Also most of our chapters are campus average in size at least. Yes we have a couple of smaller ones, but who says you need numbers to be a good chapter?

Now you are talking to yourself. Have you ever thought that maybe Kappa Sigma doesn't want to be associated with dumbasses? Sometimes the students think they are smarter and wiser than their national leaders. They don't realize that the people in charge have seen it all and have responsibilities to the Fraternity as a whole and not just one older chapter. If they had manned up and admitted their problems and worked on them I am sure they would still be around. Hence dumbasses.

Exactly...that's what finally did it for Louisiana. We didn't want to lose our Highway money!

Do you know what the word "normative" means AOPII? Apparently you don't, or you wouldn't have posted such a ridiculous response.

In a discussion this complex, please quote the message that you are responding to, please. I spent a couple minutes trying to figure out how your response had to do with AOII Angel 's posting about Highway money and Louisiana. It was only after I went through the entire thread looking for the work normative that I found it.

Sorry about that. She came back with some nonsense about how normative values are set by the rule makers. Which of course makes no sense.

Although "normative values" can refer to the ideal in philosophy, its connotation, particularly sociologically, is that of referring to the current reality.

If you're going to carry on some sort of weird feud, arguing this point is a poor tactic.
