Sooo I just went to Macy's this evening to get my dresses for ritual, Festival of Lights and Laurels banquets.
For those who are curious, I went with tea/cocktail length dresses because I am short. I have heard that there is a good mix of long and short dresses at the banquets. Right now, all of their formal stock is on sale (since prom/graduation season is just about over). All of the formal/semi formal dresses were marked down by 40% and 50%. They had some on clearance for %60! So if you live near a Macy's store, check it out. If you are interested, I can PM links to the stuff I bought. So excited! |

LOL, NutBrnHair, we're excited that KSUViolet will be in the Twin Cities too! I've visited this woman's chapter, spent time with her little and grandlittle, seen her composite pic in person and STILL haven't met her in person.

Attending one's Inter/National Convention is a wonderful experience. I wish everyone who is a regular on GC had this opportunity. It increases pride in your organization and helps you see the big picture. I had the opportunity to represent my collegiate chapter in 1982 at Convention and this year's will be #13 for me! Let's just say I was hooked after #1!

Minneapolis, I am jealous. I'll be steaming in Orlando at SK's Convention. My plan is to not leave the building.

Can't wait to see anyone! I live in the Twin Cities and it's been in the mid 80s and humid all week! But nights tend to cool off, so definitely bring a light sweater, etc. I also remember in Nashville, even though it was hot out, the hotel had the AC cranked, so definitely bring something you can wear in doors.
As far as attire goes, it was really all over the place. Some girls literally had formal dresses, some had just skirts and shirts. So I wouldn't spend a ton of time stressing over what works, what doesn't because it's all over the board! I'm also on the Convention Committee, and you guys have NO idea how excited we are! The Mall of America trip too is a huge event. I think over 150 women have signed up for it! It's a lot of fun. And I definitely agree on a GC meet up! Keep me posted or let me know if you need help planning anything!!! |

I can't wait to relax with my sisters.... This Convention will be mind-blowing for me....I'm such a n00b! |
