Come to think of it, it's not free at MOST schools. It typically is going to cost you something (because it is free for Panhellenis to put it together and run it). The fee at my school was about $30-ish.

I know you're trying to be helpful here, but sorority recruitment is not the same as fraternity recruitment.

I wouldn't want a PNM to read this and mistakenly think it was free.

wow I wasn't aware of that. Ok now I can see why somebody might be more reluctant to rush if she wasn't sure that she had a good chance of getting a bid. My apologies.

Wow, something told me I shouldn't have added that it was all for free.

And I understand sorority and fraternity recruitment it quite different, but I never figured there would be a fee attached.

Anyway, the OP should be set in the right direction with this thread now, right?

Let's see:

-20 years old.
-Junior status.
-No friends in chapters.
-No recs.
-UGA.

According to my percentage calculator, the answer is .025% chance. This, of course, does not factor in the subsequent crabby attitude you exhibited here when people refused to blow sunshine up your hoo hoo.

What you posted, initially, was informative for me and anyone else who is interested in rushing at UGA. I didn't have a "crabby attitude" because people didn't "blow sunshine up my hoo hoo," I simply wanted to actually get some informative information on the subject of the original post, not about how everyone who visits this site regularly apparently has a problem with people who ask questions about bid chances. What you just said is, by no means, blowing "sunshine up my hoo hoo," and I have no problem with that. In fact, thanks for the informative post.

All of the recent posts questioning chances for getting bids were about people who are married, or freshmen who are 19, etc. None that apply to me. Maybe threads from days/weeks ago were similar to mine, but sorry, I don't really care to search that far back when I can simply create a new post!

Just understand that people here have read and answered the same questions over and over and over again. And UGA is a school that is talked about frequently on this site. As has been said, the search function is your best friend. Because some people (myself included), after having given the same advice 3,285 times, don't want to give it anymore. Just be aware of this for the next question you have :)

Yeah, I mean I definitely understand. I guess I should've done a little more research, but I wasn't really expecting this sort of response, especially when people could either not post at all or post a link, which some did and it was super helpful. Either way, this is an open forum, so people can post w/e they want, and I understand why people vented because i'm sure it does become annoying-- I just thought it was kinda unnecessary. I'll be sure to search more in depth next time. :)

Time for the obligatory OT post...does anybody know if UGA is doing another spring recruitment this year? (I mean the "formal" type that they implemented last year where every sorority participates...not the informal COB-type recruitment of the past.)

Why do they hate us? Why do so many non greeks think we are the mean girls of the stupid high school movie, the stuck up snots who made you hate high school? All you have to do is to read some of the posts on this thread to know why.

Blah blah blah. It is far from uncommon for any type of internet community to have basic expectations of new posters. Reading things like the FAQs or doing a search before posting a question are basic manners, no matter where you go. Stop acting so holier than thou.

I am a 22 yo at UCA and im considering either ZPB or TriSig as a sorority to rush. I know ZPH is a Divine nine sorority and i was wondering about my ability to join. Im of Latino decent but it seems like they are the right ones for me. Should i try?

If you are interested in an NPC sorority (like Tri Sigma) you will be going through rush and should take a look at ALL the sororities, not just one.

As for Z Phi B, I'll stay out of that lane.
