From looking at the three groups web site's (all of which are well put together) it appears Ep Sigs numbers are not on par with the other groups so it probably is a matter of time. Hopefully, they will catch on that certain behaviors are unacceptable and most
college age women find any form of hazing demeaning and they will get with the program. I think the OP is long gone but the topic is interesting. How do local groups and NPC groups function under the same umbrella on campuses? |
Dang, who could blame the PNMs for choosing the nationals? LOL.
Shorter is changing and the one thing that changed it more than anything was the addition of a football team that began to win right off. National championship games were held in town and attention was drawn to the school, new and exciting majors and academic programs were added, and enrollment began to climb. Local kids who wouldn't have dreamed of going to college in town are going to Shorter now. There are still some crappy traditions hanging around, AFAIK. There was this "honor society" (that self-selected its members) called Secret Sophomore Sabots. We called them the Saboteurs because even though they had this secret membership who was supposed to do wonderful things, they preferred to sneak into campus buildings at night and literally turn everything upside down. (Like all the desks in the main building, which those of us who taught 8 AM classes would discover when we entered to teach. I always walked right out and went home.) A few years ago, they covered the upper campus with tiny metallic green confetti and YAY! Finally they got caught and were forced to pay hundreds for the clean up. |
