...I just want to see someone feed Janice to tigers....ugh.

and Sanjaya?

How you gonna talk about having to figure out you are now the man of the family but break down and cry about it??

Ha! I guess I'm a little behind.

Those two "celebrities" are stupid.

Celebrities? Nah.

Celebutantes. Definitely.

I gave the show a chance, watched a couple of the first episodes, but the Speidi stuff drove me nuts, so I quit. Now that they are gone, maybe I'll watch again.

Is there anyone redeeming enough to spend an hour of my time doing this instead of reading? (maybe depends on the book ;))

I love that these people are going through all this for charity, and that their charities mean so much to them and some even chose them for personal reasons.

Except for Spiedi, who chose 2 of the biggest charities because they wouldn't be at that much of a loss when they quit.

I wouldn't even call them that as "celebutantes" implies they might have something in common with debutantes.

The term you are looking for is "media whores."

LOL. Too sadly true.

But they do fit the definition of celebutante as per The Wiki and UrbanDictionary.

Janice is a TRIP... i think over the years she has created this own little world, alternative reality if you will... and she honestly believes she is real and in the right, and it is a TRIP... Janice kept shouting say No to prop 8... isn't it a little late for that... it totally ruined Daniel's eviction, i love it...

I love Patti, but maybe the boo-hoo fest is getting old... i do feel bad for her, but I won't if she keeps up the breakdowns and pity parties

I am surprised how pleasant Holly is, or is being edited...

A further reason to hate D. Baldwin is when he held up the pic of his baby when Lou had to decide who gave the baby for... that with the fact he tried to push his charity as the most important... the man's ego is almost as big as Janice's... So glad he is gone, because his antics were not even entertaining, just annoying
"the thrill of victory, the agony of no eat"... retarded

Hey...per other current thread running...you can't use the word 'retarded'. ;)

hehehe!

What does anyone think of Sanjaya and Holly?

ASTalumna06 06-12-2009 02:28 PM

I loved the granola bar incident. Every time Stephen Baldwin was laughing, I just about died.

And I'm glad they told us what those blue dots are. I kept looking at everyone in the confessional wondering why they were wearing them. And I think that's the one reason why I couldn't be on a show like this.. the bugs.

I missed the first half of last night's epi, and I think the first half was probably the better of the two halves! I didn't catch the granola bar incident. And, what are the blue dots? Bug repellent?

Yes, it is bug repellent...

the granola bar incident: The girls won a food challenge that included 4 granola bars... suddenly, one was missing, and everyone blamed janice. She did in fact take it, as the camera showed us her eating the bar and then dumping the wrapper in the woods near the confessional... Janice denied denied denied and shouted that there were no thieves in camp, but the Baldwin brothers used deductive reasoning to assume that the person who has stole before (Janice), stole this time. They kept teasing her about it and D. Baldwin kept asking "why did you take the granola bar" over and over to Janice (that may not of been the question verbatim, but it was along those lines)

I like Holly and Sanjaya, neither have been an annoyance, both to my surprise... Together, I think the camp is just teasing them, I dont think anything will happen, at all, it'd be weird...

I guess I set my DVR to record this entire series. I decided to give it another shot, and without the "Speidi" nonsense, the show is actually kind of interesting.

ETA: OK. Maybe I spoke too soon. Now we have "Sanjolly" to deal with? Bleh.

ASTalumna06 06-23-2009 12:31 PM

I'm still watching, although at times, I don't know why.

The fact that Stephen Baldwin just up and left kind of irked me. He was only a few days away from the end and he quit. I tend to wonder if some of them have forgotten what they're playing for.

Personally, I could just watch those little ants carrying leaves all day long :p

WinniBug 06-23-2009 01:05 PM

Why did Stephen leave?
My DVR doesn't record all the episodes...some apparently appear as repeats to it.

At the beginning of last night's episode, out of the blue he announced he wanted to leave. He basically said he missed his family and his heart wasn't in it anymore. It was completely random because he seemed fine up until that point. And he had already been out there for 3 weeks. What's another 3 or 4 days?
