As a usually proud Florida native...GO GATORS! I watched the game last night at a fantastic BBQ joint here in the city with some good friends--some Gators, some Florida natives, others just out on a Thursday night with friends--and it was great from a Florida standpoint, but they were sloppy with the ball! You'd think the two best teams in the country could prevent a ball from being thrown around like a freaking hot potato. The fights were pretty funny, too.

OH MY GOD Y'ALL!! My son was on the front row in the endzone (where it was painted Florida) and EVERYTHING except the 1st Florida touchdown occurred about 15 yards from him. We could see him and his fiancee watching with hands over their faces during the Florida defensive stands, we saw them jumping up and down screaming during the Florida scores (she looks like one of those angels with her mouth wide open in singing pose haha :)).

THEN to top off the night of his life - After the confetti fell, and the guys were celebrating, Tebow came over to the fans and the first hand he shook was my SON's!!!! It was on TV and we were able to tape it on our phones. The cool thing is our son is on his cell phone as he's reaching down to shake his hand, and he's on the phone with US!!! He called at the end of the game to share his excitement, and as Tebow was there he was yelling, "I'm shaking Tebow's hand!" as we are watching it unfold on TV.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! I'm going to get my brother in law here in the office to show me how to make it so I can post it. Right now, we have a still shot that is jpg and the film that is on windows image somethingorother. I'm totally technically illiterate!

Do you know if your son made it to any of his classes today? ;)

Yahoo Bowl Pick'em Rank: 921
Points: 448
Correct Picks: 25 of 34
Percentile: 99th

And first place in my Alumni Pick'em Group! Thanks FL.

I talked to him a couple of hours ago and they were just leaving Miami to go back to Gainesville. I don't think he is really caring too much about classes right now ;) besides, it's still drop/add period. During the last few nat'l championships, the professors were pretty lenient about attendence anyway... (they're not stupid ;)).

The bigger problem is his fiancee. She is a 9th grade teacher and took off Wed. thru Fri. I'm not sure if she used personal days and told them where they were really going or if she is "sick". Since they were really easy to spot on TV, she might be busted...

I hope this works - if it does, this is my son shaking Tebow's hand. He's on the phone with us.

He has no clue who is holding him up, he was pretty plowed by this time.

Okay, it didn't work - any hints how to do it?

Yay! I did it!!

Great job, srmom!

It's amazing how all of a sudden one gains remarkable feats of strength when plowed at a football game - especially the National Championship game.

I miss being in college and all the plowing at football games!

I forgot that at most schools, classes have yet to start. (I think UK's start next Wednesday.)

I remember when UK won the NCAA in basketball (on a Monday) and no one showed up the next day. Even those that were sober and could care less about basketball. (All two of 'em, bless their hearts.) :D

Nice shot of your son srmom!

srmom 01-09-2009 05:28 PM

Thanks! We paused the hi-def DVR recording and took it with my cell phone.

I'm hoping I can make a decent print of it to give to my son. It would be a neat momento from the game :)

Wow, srmom. Your enthusiasm and joy for your son and UF is infectious. :D Thanks for posting the pic.
