Ohio Man calls 911 while Making Drug Deal
http://www.nbc4i.com/cmh/news/state_...ug_deal/12443/
Police in Cleveland say a man who called 911 put the dispatcher on hold to make a drug deal. Police say the 20-year-old man called 911 Saturday night to report that two men with guns were watching him near West 44th and Clark Avenue and hung up. The dispatcher called him back, and during the call the man asked the dispatcher to hold on and made a drug deal. A voice can be heard on the recording saying, “What you need? A 10-pack? A 10-pack, alright.“ A 10-pack is slang for a bundle of heroin. |

Fart fight: One iPhone fart app takes another to court
http://venturebeat.com/2009/02/13/fa...ther-to-court/
Fart fight: One iPhone fart app takes another to court MG Siegler | February 13th, 2009 People love the fart applications for the iPhone — or love to hate them. Either way, a lot of people are downloading them, and making the developers a lot of money. And where there’s money, there’s lawsuits. And now we have one. Infomedia, the creators of iFart Mobile, have asked a federal judge in Colorado to rule that “pull my finger” is a common phrase and as such, doesn’t fall under trademark laws. (Yes, I’m serious.) Why? Well iFart Mobile has apparently been going at it with another fart application, one we’ve written about before, Pull My Finger. Infomedia’s Joel Comm lays out his version of the whole thing on his blog and claims that Air-O-Matic, the makers of Pull My Finger, are demanding money from him, stating that he’s publicly saying things that damages Air-O-Matic’s product. Comm also says that Air-O-Matic asked Apple to remove iFart Mobile from the App Store, and Apple refused. If you really want to get into all of this, Comm has made the legal papers available here. So yes, we have a fart fight on our hands — it almost seems appropriate given how popular these apps have become in the App Store. I’m not sure of the exact number of fart apps now, but AppShopper lists 165 apps that contain the word “fart” — and there are plenty of others using synonyms. So yeah, it’s in the hundreds. |

BEIJING, China (CNN) -- A married Chinese businessman who could no longer afford five mistresses held a competition to decide which one to keep. The women knew of one another, but none elected to break up with the man and give up their rent-free apartment and a 5,000 yuan ($730) monthly allowance, the reports said. When the economy soured, the businessman apparently decided to let go of all but one mistress. He staged a private talent show in May, without telling the women his intentions. An instructor from a local modeling agency judged the women on the way they looked, how they sang and how much alcohol they could hold, the Shanghai Daily said. The four other women left him, as did his wife when she learned of the affairs. *Much more humorous details in the article! |

This is a big story here in CT - apparently the victim is in critical condition, and the chimp's owner had a mild heart attack after the fiasco. |
