I think the scarf is the most useful of the items in the Lilly greek line. Perhaps if they had different products it would've sold better?

This...I am surprised that Vera Bradley hasn't jumped on the sorority trend and made prints with chapter colors and maybe one symbol. The company founders were Greek.

I know that Pat Miller's a KD (initiated at Indiana), but I don't think that Barbara Bradley Baekgaard joined a sorority. I don't think she went to a school where it was offered!

I employed my fb sleuthing skills and can confirm that she is a Tri Sigma :) In any event, I hope that what she was told was incorrect, as there are still so many sorority women chomping at the bit for their own print. My theory is that Lilly took the wrong approach by creating so many products for a few groups, rather than making just a tote and scarf for each. Perhaps they can still salvage the sorority line by designing prints for each group and only selling the items in bulk orders? Vineyard Vines seems to have found success this way.

I can totally see why sales would be poor with the totally heinous prints they've put out lately. #boycottingscarypandas #pinkisnotourcolor

Yay, I'm not the only one! My wrists and fingers are also very tiny (width-wise anyway.. my fingers are long!).. I've never been fitted for a ring, but I believe I'm about a size 4. The only bracelets I ever wear are either stretchy/fitted, or they're magnetic (i.e. a string of beads that are all magnetized and they wrap around my wrist a few times and "stick")

I thought about the scarf, until I saw it in person at the AOII Emporium. It is VERY thin and very short. So, not very useful even as just a decorative scarf. I did buy two Lilly tumblers as thank you gifts for my VPs of Recruitment last year (filled with candy) and they both loved them. Not sure If I'll buy a couple more for this year's VPs or not.

I've seen the scarf too and have heard a few complaints about the quality. I just meant that, in my opinion, it's the most useful for an alum because I doubt an alum would buy a tiny little whiteboard or such. I feel as though Lilly should've decided on different products perhaps or at least additional products, that were more geared towards alums.

This was exactly my impression. I was going to get my daughter a Pi Phi scarf, until I saw it in person at her campus bookstore. It didn't appear very durable, and it certainly appeared overpriced.

The new print isn't in the sorority collection, but it does have pansies on it!

Quite bright and cute, and not as insanely pink as they usually are.

EEK! I thought this was a bump because of their sale. As I recall they have a big one around this time, right?

Amazon has non-sorority Lilly dresses on sale right now. (In case any PNM's are looking for a last-minute dress ... Free shipping too!)

Just picked up an agenda for my niece who's starting her senior year!

I just got an agenda for my birthday! I LOVE it!

ETA: Found my ONE issue with it...on some pages there's little doodles that kind of interrupt your writing space. Your little seashells are cute, but dammit I need all that room for planning!!!

Sciencewoman 08-18-2013 07:26 PM

The big sale starts Monday morning at 8 am! However, the sorority line appears to be quite depleted. There were no Pi Phi items available when I just checked, which disappoints me because I was waiting to get something for my daughter.

I believe I heard that they take some things offline the day or two before the sale so they have some for the sale?

I'm not sure about how accurate that is, it was from comments on the Lilly fb.
