My son's small private school has suffered a loss - a student was killed in an ATV accident. I cannot begin to imagine the grief they must be feeling. Please pray for the family, and for the school. This is my 10 year old son's first real brush with death - it's tough.

Oh no! :( A student from my high school class was killed in an ATV accident 3 years ago. Even this long after graduation, it was a huge blow to all of us. I can't imagine handling that loss at just 10-years-old.

His younger brother is in my son's class. I work with the mother. May light perpetual shine on George.

I will lift his family up in prayer.

I am pleased to say that G had a great time on our cruise. She had to rest a bit more than the other girls but she ate well and by the end of the week, her color looked better than it had in months. Her hair is starting to grow back and she will have surgery very soon. She celebrated her 18th birthday on the ship with us. We had lunch at the Johnny Rocket's on the ship and she got a special dessert and the waiters sang to her. Then we took her to the casino where she promptly blew $6.00 in the slot machines. At our formal dinner, we had purchased a cake for her and the waiters sang to her again.

G's surgery is today. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers today.

DONE.

Her mom's most recent Facebook post: She's now out of surgery and in recovery. Everything went great! They removed the uterus and got all of the visible cancer. They were able to save her ureter and therefore her kidney is safe too!

THANK YOU everybody who has been keeping her in their prayers. I secretly cried on her 18th birthday on our cruise, tears of joy that she had made it to see 18. This young lady has had a very difficult senior year and her graduation in June will be very special for all of us :)

George's favorite hymn - it's really staying with me. The Canticle of the Turning:

I love that hymn, but then I'm a sucker for hymns set to British folk tunes. Thinking of what you've said about George and those who mourn him, I'm reminded of this hymn by John Bell of the Iona Community and set to the tune of Ye Banks and Braes:

We Cannot Measure How You Heal

Beautiful and very fitting.

I just realized Mother's Day is coming up - oh, how I ache for Elisabeth and her first one without George.

A friend found out that a close family friend who has been struggling with cancer for a while has a week to live at most. All parties involved can use your prayers.

My son in law was just laid off - with no notice. Prayers appreciated.

Update: my mom has just finished her 7th chemo treatment of 12! I hate that I'm not home in NC go be with her through all of this, but she really is a trooper and I admire her strength having to deal with all of this. It's been really hard on her, and if I have to go through chemo at some point in my life, if I can do it with half the grace she has, then I know I'll be ok!

However I do come asking for prayers again, but this time for my co-worker. She had emergency surgery yesterday to remove a pretty large tumor from her bladder, and the doctors said it is cancerous. We don't know what stage yet, but could possibly find that out next week. Prayers for my co-worker and her family would be much appreciated!

The mother of a dear friend has recently suffered a debilitating stroke. Any prayers for Steven and his family are welcome and appreciated.

Prayers for all ^^

Continuing my brother's medical drama, apparently they found a kidney stone the size of his thumb when he was in the hospital last, but didn't tell him. He is now scheduled for surgery to take it out. Last time a family member had the surgery, she didn't wake up from the anesthesia. Surgery is scheduled for Monday.
