Even though it's NYC's "conservative" paper, it's scum. When my best friend from college died, they harassed me, her other friends, and worse!, her family. They wrote things about her last days that were patently untrue. The other papers in NYC got the story right, but they were ridiculous. When they chased us as we were walking out of her memorial, that was the last straw. I haven't read that pile of nonsense in over 4 years.

You're probably going to laugh, but I read the Post once and assumed it was a tabloid. It just didn't read like actual news.

Part of me hates to bump this thread but did anyone watch both the Presidential Address and the GOP response?

Jindal gave the GOP response. I can't say I disagree with him completely (because that would be a lie) and part of me wants to like him but at the same time there's another part of me that says DO NOT WANT.

This was a great thread. :)

I didn't watch much of the speech. I have low tolerance for politics and Obama's speeches. I will eventually see or read enough of his speech and the GOP response to get the point. I only care about the point.

I wanted Bobby to do so much better than what he did. It's kind of tough when even the Fox News pundits are like yeah..... he sucked.

The Republican Party needs a sexy black woman.

Well, I'm swamped with work and I hate bipartisanism.

We'll see what Halle Berry is up to, then. :)

The worst part is I can't quite put my finger on what it is about him that I either like or do not like.

I can guess that part of it has to do with the "We can do ANYTHING!"

DrPhil 02-24-2009 11:51 PM

^^^ I definitely see how that can be annoying. :)

My initial reaction to Jindal's response was if that's the best the GOP is going to have to put up in 4 years, Obama's definitely getting a 2nd term.

I finally got around to watch Jindal's response. Wow, can you say major fail with a capital F? Sounds like he was teaching 2nd Graders.

I actually thought that he ws a great public speaker and a debater. What happen? Did Palin's camp decided to become his handler.
