Best of luck to your daughter, Gingerdeltaz. Going to Ole Miss and being a Theta there changed my life immeasurably and helped me excel in college. I hope she has a wonderful experience!

Apparently if I am seeking crude advice, from someone I’ve never met, who has not experienced a competitive SEC rush themselves, who has no experience with the campus in question, and who has never experienced a daughter participating in a competitive recruitment – or even raising a daughter, period -- then I’m on the right site. Right? |
Yes, Good luck to your daughter Gingerdeltaz! I helped a local girl find recs. to all the houses at Ole Miss, so I am hoping she has a good experience.

I sure wish your daughter all the best! We will all be very anxious to hear where she is going to call home!

Keep on giving advice that everyone (including parents and/or people from SEC schools) have said is inappropriate, and I'm sure the women you give it to will have a wonderful recruitment. Why don't be an extra super special help and tell us your chapter's EXACT membership selection policies (by the way, what chapter were you in? You seem to spout off a lot of "information" without actually saying where/if you were a member) while you are at it? You seem to be advocating that, and saying that you can tell a PNM exactly why she was cut - even if you've never met her, heard her name, or seen a photo of her. |

You do appear to have vast experience perseverating on points that were never made, however: Quote:
I haven’t stated anything inaccurate about GPA, recruitment, and narrowed options -- this information is posted prominently on the Ole Miss site, as I posted earlier . Apparently you don’t have much experience reading the thread, either. ;) . |
The issue is with you leaping to the defense of a poster who called out sororities by name, who acted as though she knew exactly why this or that group would cut a PNM, and apparently wholeheartedly supporting that kind of assumption and misinformation. That has nothing to do with parenting, rush, or recs. That has to do with naming names, which we really don't like to do on this site. But considering one of your first posts was one of the most mean-spirited things I have ever read on this website (couched in "southern propriety," of course) you obviously missed that memo.
Anyway, this is the post that I'm referring to. Quote:
I notice you still didn't state your affiliation or chapter (if you really have one). ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) |

If we can find some point here that you can be "right" about, will you discontinue clucking so that the thread can return to topic? |
You mean this?

Since I have accepted an Alumna volunteer support position in Recruitment this year, I am going offline in this thread (at least), though I think I will have to lurk because GC is so addictive. Best wishes and good luck to everyone! - M.P.

Have fun, MaryPoppins!

to all the Ole Miss chapters: Good luck, have FUN! can't wait to see photos...
I must admit I do NOT understand all the tailgating/football noise. I'm a huge baseball fan; I'm waiting for the World Series. Then it's just a couple of months until College ball starts again, and then Spring Training... ahhhh, heaven. Basketball is okay too while I'm waiting for baseball. Of course there is a swerve in my post, because you guys have come to expect that from me! :D God I hate smilies, I hope thetygerlily and AOIIAngel are happy. |
