I went walking and if I can get up in the morning, I'll be going to water aerobics.

I went and apparently it gave me so much energy, I've gone from exhausted to wide awake at 2am.

Week 4 Day 1 of Couch 2 5K.

And I have to say Week 3 Day 3 to Week 4 Day 1 is an awful big jump. So tired.

Time to resurface this thread to help encourage everyone for their New Year's Resolutions! It's always helpful/encouraging to see others getting fit!

What I did today: Woke up & did 45 minutes of yoga & 15 minutes of ballet bar exercises.

My new plan (my old one was so boring I could hardly be forced to do it) for exercise & fitness includes:
- Trying to get into yoga a bit and integrating that with my old ballet exercises. One of my main goals is to just tone up my legs and get them back to where they used to be when I was a ballerina/cheerleader/gymnastics coach. I actually found a good Youtube video for beginners with the yoga stuff in it so it gives me something to follow.
- A "Gym Day" where I actually trek down to the gym and do some time either on the bike or elliptical for cardio/endurance & also hope to mix this with a little bit of light weights. Possibly thinking of this as separate days, but I know I won't want to go down to the gym all the time, especially in the snow & not to mention I don't have time for this each day.
- Walking. Once it gets nice out I'm definitely going to have a morning walk. I live right beside a very large park.
- Aerobics. Either on the Wii or finding a YouTube video to follow

Since getting bored and dreading the boredom is something that throws me off a lot, I'm going to mix these things up over various days.
Here's too a new fitness plan & hoping I can make it work! Good luck to everyone else who's got related resolutions as well!

I recently started a 30 day Bikram yoga challenge. I'm on day 3 and I think I'm a bit nuts. Ninety minutes of hot yoga every day is super challenging!

I just started the same thing! I am currently alternating between loving it and questioning what I got myself into.

I always question myself halfway through the standing series! I went 3x a week when I was in grad school, but where I live now had no studio until last month. My body hates me right now, but I'm excited to stick with it.

LOL cause I never finished this.

I walked a little over 3 miles today. I did The Biggest Loser Wii game yesterday, so I get a break :)

ETA: I think I'll post the routine I'm going to try to start following too...

- Gym at least 2 days a week, before work.
- Wii exercise or a work out video another two days a week.
- I'm also going to try my best to walk to the train. Lately I've been walking two blocks to the bus, then taking the bus to the train, and on my way home, I call someone to pick me up. If I replace that ride and the bus with all walking, I will burn 1250 calories a week, JUST by going to and from work. It's so easy, yet I hate it right now because I can't stand cold weather lol

I typically do Zumba (at home) or some sort of fitness glass at the gym/plus some cardio.

Tulip86 01-04-2011 06:08 AM

I do yoga at home, I have a 1 1/2 hour kickboxing class every wednesday and try to go to the gym on fridat if my muscles aren't too sore from kickboxing.
Luckily my job requires me to walk all day.

ThetaPrincess24 01-04-2011 05:16 PM

I hour of pilates matwork and cleaning out the hall bathroom closet (exercise because this required lots of reaching, weight lifting with getting the trash bag downstairs, and three-four trips up & down my stairs moving items to different locations).

My Christmas "gift" to myself was Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred workout video. I'm on Level 1, and I think I might die. But I'm planning to do this every day before work (it's only about 25 minutes long, so I won't have to get up super early).

I also joined a gym a few months ago, but I've been unable to go often because of traveling so much for work. But I'm getting better about going now. I'm hoping to make it there 2-3 times per week.

I finished Day 5 level 2 of the 30 Day Shred. It's still really hard! I'm working through the 30 Day Shred now and do some other workout DVDs a couple days a week. I try not to do 30DS too many days in a row since it's a lot of strength.

I just watched Level 2 tonight. The fact that Jillian said, "You should feel like you're going to die," didn't make me want to actually attempt it anytime soon. I'll work on Level 1 for another week or so before I move to Level 2.

Um. I would not want to either.

I did yoga again today. This cold had gotten the better of me this morning so that was all the further I could be motivated. I'm hoping to get to aerobics tomorrow morning instead.
However, the yoga is refreshing and a great way to start the day :)
